Maybe you have two versions of the game installed. Make sure while installation you choose correct game path.

EDIT :
Run laucnher as administrator, If it does not work follow my steps.
1.Press the Windows key and R (Win+r) on your keyboard
2.Enter "regedit" and press enter (without the quotes)
3.Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FipsAlgorithmPolicy"
4.Click "File"
5.Click "Export"
6.Save the file somewhere safe (eg. on your desktop) as a backup
7.Once saved, double click on "Enabled"
8.Set "Value data" to "0" (without the quotes)
9.Press OK
10.Close Registry editor and reboot

When you download mod, mod set on Mods folder ! (Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/Mods) Go to SinglePlayer - Activate the mod. Pick the job. Go to Multiplayer. -

A lot of players have this problem.
Download https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53344 . Restart PC and Run Launcher as administrator.

Fix:
As you see the black screen the simple thing you have to do is wait.
It may take 5-10 minutes.
I have this before and many others i'm guessing your new, so welcome!
Just wait and this wont happen again.
