How do you deal with high traffic areas like Calais-Duisburg?

High populated areas are part of everyday traffic. I keep calm and continue to respect other drivers and all traffic regulations.

  2. Naturally, the message on screen should be temporary to avoid blocking the view.

But a small red square in the corner of the screen could be used as a permanent indicator of a high-populated area, respectively a green square or not showing anything at all in areas with less than 25 players.

  3. The TruckersMP rules require every player to respect national road traffic regulations, and the road between Duisburg and Calais is covered by road traffic regulations of multiple countries.

In Germany, for example, it is prohibited to stop in a steep curve.

It also defines stopping for longer than 3 minutes as parking. Your suggestion therefore might already be covered by the TruckersMP rules.

It is in general a good idea, not to stop in any place that is dangerous for you or and/ or blocks the view of other drivers.

Yeah let's just reduce the speed limit to the point the road gets boring enough so everyone migrates to Klagenfurz-Innsbruck (or Dresden-Hamburg), and then we rinse repeat it there.

If you don't like other drivers, then boy SCS got the solution for you. It's called convoy.

Different players strive for different things.

In TruckersMP, some prefer to drive realistic, others prefer to drive at excessive speed, and then others prefer to drive back and forth the same road all day long, and so on.

It would be nice, if we could agree on that and respect each other's opinion and decision.

I can also add a tip: do not try to text in chat while driving if you don't have a steering wheel to control your movement while typing. 🫠

    Don't text and drive.

Independent of the used peripheral device.

  6. Maybe one should consider the possibility of letting go of things one does not have control over.

One will not make others change their driving behavior by enforcing stricter speed limits.

Instead, one can follow the speed limits and lead by example.

Can I send a video link here

There is no point in providing your video of a possible rule violation in the forum.

Please file a report using your evidence via the web report system.

  8. Distracted driving is a leading cause of accidents in road traffic.

    Some common distractions are

interacting with a smartphone, eating and drinking, adjusting music or navigation, and talking to passengers.

In your case, interacting with your community in chat bears the risk of causing an accident.

Such violations are covered by the TruckersMP rules,

    §2.5 - Reckless Driving.

What is the benefit of playing without accidents or some reckless drivers, the game will be cold and boring, I love the accidents that happen in front of me and enjoy the madness of some players, such as Skoda drivers, without them there is no fun in driving on the CD road and try to drive in a period when there are not many drivers on the road, you will see that you get bored quickly and close the game

Not everyone enjoys reckless driving or accidents. For some, the fun comes from teamwork, coordination, and the community spirit of driving together across long distances. By respecting the rules, you make the game more enjoyable for those who prefer an authentic experience.

Driving carefully teaches you to master different types of trucks, handle tough routes, and manage your vehicle in challenging situations like rain, night driving, or tight parking. Reckless driving might give you a temporary adrenaline rush, but playing carefully develops long-term skills.

  10. While different vehicles improve realism and variety, third-party add-ons can also cause performance issues, causing lag or crashes. Furthermore, they need to be updated to match the latest game version to avoid compatibility issues.

    Hello @Interstate Nomad,

Thank you for your suggestion and patience!

We fully agree that recognizing those who made this game and TruckersMP possible is important, especially considering the many real-life truckers in our playerbase.

While researching National Truckers Appreciation Day, we found that it’s a relatively recent initiative, starting in 2020. We also learned about National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, on the third week of September, which has been launched by the American Trucking Associations in 1988 and seems to be more widely celebrated. We believe this Week might be a more fitting occasion for our community to celebrate.

Would you be open to us accepting your suggestion with this adjustment?

Additionally, our Event Managers could consider organizing in-game events to mark this week, though likely starting in 2025 as we’re a bit short on time for this year.

    Thanks again for your suggestion!

    Thanks for your detailed response.

Please go ahead and adjust my suggestion as you see fit.
