  1. @Xavon,

    I understand your frustration.

The few populated areas of TruckersMP are infamous for reckless drivers and trolls, while the rest of the map is deserted.

One has to chose between the devil and the deep blue sea, or leave TruckersMP for good. I chose the latter many moons ago and haven't regretted it.

I might return one day, when TruckersMP provides realistic simulation servers and AI traffic.

Until then, I'll continue to visit the TruckersMP's forum to add my two cents.

It is everyone's own responsibility. Just like we ban people who crash, we should also ban people who are not paying attention. At the end of the day, people can crash in this game, but that's why we don't close crashes, we ban people who crash. Also, accidents don't happen all the time and when we think about blocking, it's something that will affect fewer people.

No solution can be 100% perfect unless we increase the number of authorities here. The aim here is to provide the best service with the least defects. If we don't want to worry about such minor problems, I have a simpler suggestion. Let's get more authorities and be done with it.

Otherwise, we will be discussing such small details in every system where we look for a solution without increasing the number of authorities.

Sure. And I like to use this forum to brainstorm and discuss possible (dis-)advantages and side effects of ideas.

And that doesn't mean that the idea isn't good.

Regarding the topic above, I wanted a keybind or a way to make it easier to add the command at intervals?

I haven't tried it yet, but maybe you can use AutoHotkey.

    https://www.autohotkey.com/

The idea would be to execute several commands in one key bind.

    For example:

    1. The key C (or any other key or key combination you prefer) combines following commands:
    2. execute the key to open/ close the console in game
    3. write the command g_set_climate in the command line
    4. execute the key ENTER to confirm the command
    5. execute the key to open/ close the console in game

    Good luck!

While the idea of teleporting is nice, he always defends it as exploitable. That's why I wanted to come up with a solution like this. We can add a duration next to the player's name when to exit ghost mode.

And a duration timer will shift the responsibility to avoid a collision to other players, won't it?

Given the fact that players might have waited some time due to the blocking, it seems unlikely that they will be patient enough to consider a duration timer of the perpetrator.

The timer countdown itself could even lead them to try their luck and pass the vehicle in Ghost Mode with too few time left, causing a collision.

Since I anticipate that there will be those who will stubbornly say "abuse", I came up with the idea of ghost mode as a measure to appease them, so that even if the system is abused (which I don't think it will be if a good amount of votes are set for it), no one's enjoyment of the game will be ruined.

Basically, the idea to put a blocking vehicle into Ghost Mode is good, because it would enable other players to pass the obstruction.

But it raises the question when to end the Ghost Mode.

To avoid a collision, Ghost Mode mustn't be deactivated while other players are passing though the (blocking) vehicle.

How about combining with the option to teleport the vehicle to a nearly workshop?

It doesn´t matter in which location of the Map you are driving. Trolls dont care, if an Area is populated or not. The Question is, what is more annoying. Driving 1 -3 Hours without meeting any other Poor Soul of Lonlyness, and getting wrecked 2 Minutes before unloading, cause there is just 1 Guy in the Area who desperatly seeking any kind of Action?

Or driving shorter Haulage in more Populated Areas, with the knowledge that it can happen more often to get trolled, but you have only 300 - 500 to drive?

TruckersMP is just a PvP alternate Game for bored/banned CSGO and Arsetto/Forza Players!

My answer was based on my impression that the chances to meet a troll in a high populated area are higher than far out in the middle of nowhere.

For me, both outcomes are equally annoying, because I drive World Of Trucks jobs which means, that certain damages of the rig can't be rolled back with a quick load/ save.

  7. I support your suggestion, because the pictures and videos are outdated and give a wrong impression of the TruckersMP mod.

But I suggest to equally advertise Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.

  8. I'm skeptical that placing VTC advertisements on trailers will decrease VTC advertising in chat.

Instead, it's likely to serve as an additional means of promotion.

Personally, I'd rather have them continue spamming the chat because I can simply deactivate it.

However, being compelled to download VTC advertisements I have no interest in and without the option to deactivate, is something I disagree with.

You can unfortunately, My mate got banned as he didn't respond to an admin in chat during an event.

That's similar paradox as require all players to follow national traffic regulations and one sentence later make an exception for speed and red lights.

Admin messages should appear independent of chat status.

my point on this one i would not take heavy cargos like trains or helicopters on the cd route they are heavy and slow and not easy to pass if your on c-d if do go on it atleast have the decency to let others players past because you will end up holding alot of players up

WIth a weight of about 3 tons, the helicopter is a lightweight. Especially if compared to the 61 tons locomotive.

Now all that will happen is, I wont see the chat announcements cos i wont want names above trucks.

In the end, you have to decide for yourself whether and how important chat announcements are.

To my knowledge, you can't be punished for missing an "important" announcement due to an deavtivated chat, can you?

Nevertheless, the reworked system is a disimprovement.

    PS:

    • Turning off player names can reduce visual clutter on the screen, allowing players to focus more on the road and gameplay elements without constant distractions.
    • Hiding player names can make the game world feel more realistic.
    • Being able to deactivate chat while still seeing player names allows players to remain aware of other players' presence without being exposed to potentially negative interactions in the chat.

Road Events don't sync. You'll be seeing one player reckless driving when they are dealing with  these road events.

CD Road is already a chaotic mess daily. Adding these anywhere on it will make the problem 5 times worse.

The admins do host "Real Operations" events that creates these scenarios. But usually just have the responding vehicles just teleport from scene to scene. Except in RO 12 when a police car was coming through a line of traffic.

Can't random road events be excluded from high populated areas, like the infamous area in and around Duisburg and Calais?

So, as mentioned by other players above, you won't be punished if you were braking for a good reason and the person behind didn't manage to avoid you (because of no safety distance etc...).

And I like to add that "a good reason" is any condition, occurance or action that might call for braking.

From slowing down to safely take a turn, adapting your speed to bad weather and visibility conditions,  or an emergency stop.

Do not let traffic following too closely delay the time at which braking is required.
