  1. Most of the rules are common sense. People claim ignorance for ramming, but the answer to that is, why would that be permitted? Intentional hitting another user, because you can? That would be against the rules in any reasonable driving simulator.

I have to kindly disagree with the "common sense" assertion.

At the end of the day, ETS2 is a gaming software sold in gaming outlets. There are many "Liriks" on the net who take a different approach to uncommon sense when it comes to gaming.

Then there are genuine rookies. A top CS:GO player, Cloud9 Shroud without Lirik's bad attitude got caught with his pants down on stream, making genuine rookie errors. He went the wrong way after crossing to the UK and was looking for a gap in the barriers to switch over to the correct side instead of F7 or correcting the truck position in SP, resulting in a justified 3 day ban. He was however, not malicious and actively avoided ramming people. We need to make it easier to educate these kinds of non-malicious, new people who are not hopeless as Lirik

(I remember an Australian admin, was it you who played League of Legends where it's common sense to be nice and cooperative in order to win...oh wait :P).

Please also answer my question about having ban records removed if it can be shown he was wrongfully banned. E.g

"Blocking" after getting rammed, cannot F7 due to truck vibrating, admin bans in 10 seconds.

  2. Great news and update.

Perhaps, it does not belong here but I would suggest some way of publicizing the rules in a better way. It can be a EULA popup in the installer or it can be text in the background image telling users to visit the forums to read the rules. Could also be a clickable button in the login form that says "Server Rules" which then brings a popup with all the rules and ban policies.

Also another query, will strikes be removed if a ban is successfully appealed in a way there was proof the player was wrongfully banned?

e.g. Player spawns inside me, I fly into the air and land, blocking the road but the truck is still vibrating thus F7+Enter is impossible. Admin arrives and gives me a 3 day ban for "blocking" the road for 30 seconds.

  3. You should submit that screenshot in the website's report system.  It should be enough to get him banned for profanity.  Possibly for wrong way as well since the GPS shows you're near Frankfurt.

Login to your account on the main page at ets2mp.com  Go to top right and find the "manage" button.  Then select the Report system.

  4. Some time ago, I've accidentally disabled the popup screen when launching MP.  It asks which version of ETS2 you want to run.

I'm getting a black screen problem where the SCS logo video will not initialize, and ctrl+alt+del does not work.  Only way to "resolve" at the moment is to reset the entire machine.

  5. Going from last year's Christmas convoy which took 11 hours with a route which got cut short, this route will probably take the same amount of time.  2-3 hours?  Not a chance, the distance of 6.131km will be pushing 6 hours driving solo @ 90km/h with no breaks.  I'd suggest starting it much earlier, like 12pm UTC so that more ground can actually be covered.

  6. Some very nice tips there.

This is true in real life but I'm not sure this is simulated by the game. I once saw a video of someone on the forums here (forgot who it was), participating in a topic that was about setting records. He was going for highest fuel efficiency and he got first place. In the video he made to prove it, he turned his engine off and on all the time to safe fuel and at the end his efficiency was was ridiculously high, which lead me to believe starting your engine has no effect on overall fuel usage. Or perhaps SCS patched it by now.

Super late but that's me! :D  I did that video before SCS implemented a hotkey for Neutral to reduce rolling gear resistance.  Turning engine off made the truck act like it was on neutral so I was coasting downhill.  Also even on the hotkey neutral, the engine seems to consume 2.0L/100km.

I drive a little bit faster than advertised limitson the Scania R490, 90km/h on highway, around 80km/h on rural roads, adjusting speed as necessary around bends.  My long-run average is 29.4L/100km for the last 15,000km or so when SCS introduced the feature in which the average consumption figure on the dash does not reset even after existing game.

  7. I would have to graciously disagree with this idea.  The default map wasn't designed for a multiplayer environment which is why we have this "problem".  The first weeks of the Alpha back in May 2014 saw what I'd consider excessive queues, and some do take 10 minutes to park.  The current solution is the best we can have in order to accomodate lots of players at the same time.

Case in point is that, the building interiors of Elder Scrolls Online is much, much bigger than singple-player Skyrim in order to accomodate plenty of players at once.

  8. So, a friend of mine got himself a 1 hour ban after rear-ending someone and stalling his truck.  In his video, it took 12 seconds from impact to him getting banned.  Taking into account typing time, the admin in question made the decision to ban after waiting less than 10 seconds.  I really do not think this is right.  In the worst case scenario, surely a kick would have sufficed to clear a busy road.

  9. Suggestion Name: Global Admin Announcements to appear even when chat disabled

Suggestion Description: There is an option to disable all chat in MP.  This even disables global Admin announcements.  My suggestion is that, global admin announcements should appear on player screen even when chat is disabled.

    Any example images: N/A
Why should it be added?: Recent Europoort saga could have been better handled as some with disabled chat would have unwittingly crossed into EP from the UK side without knowing.  One should not be punished for disabling chat as it is a feature that the developers have included.   Therefore, this suggestion will address this loophole in the game so players will see all important announcements.

  10. The figure of 2300 was determined through the "hard" way.  In other words, experiencing failure at over that number in the past.

I hope mwl4 won't call it quits, this saga might be pushing him to breaking point.  I had a tough week at work chasing a project deadline and am absolutely shattered.  I literally managed to finish my work right at the deadline, on the second after forgoing established, regular breaks and doing unpaid overtime.  Really appreciate the *FREE* work that mwl4 is putting into this.  I hope you'll be able to join RK one day @ SCS.

I will be sticking to SP for now, too busy using photo mode on the road!
