TMP have already shown that they can edit the game map.

Close the service station in the city, and add one somewhere around here:

This would split the traffic up a bit between people service calling and people making deliveries/pickups right off the bat.

It's also closer to side roads, which will help traffic to disperse more readily.

TMP can edit the map, but I don't think they can add a service station inside a tunnel xd.

If they want to reduce the amount of ban evaders, it's the only way to do it. They must change the requirements, as it's quite hard to tell when a player is ban evading or not. You see some people bragging about the fact that they are ban evading for the 5th time, and you think how is that possible ?

And with a playerbase of maybe 14k active a day but over 4 million registered accounts, it's not hard to imagine some are ban evading, yeah. xd ?

So right now it's very unclear where the collision zone starts/ends. I would like to have something like a warning sign or something similar to make that clear and seeable.

Also, it would be great if we could get a "smoother" transition from no collision to collision. I know it may sound strange, but there are still a lot of crashes due to the fast transition from no collision to collision + no warning.

Sadly I do not think a sign is going to work. Because we are talking about players who ran the red light as well and caused chaos. They probably wont even pay attention to signs next to the road, or warnings on their screen.

Making the city arcade isn't something that should belong on the simulator servers, in my opinion. But if TMP insists on using NCZ to reduce reports then their best option is probably extending NCZ to the gas station, and forcing people with barriers or gates to leave the gas station 1 by 1 as they leave NCZ. So they can't leave it while inside of each other.

EDIT: Now that I think about it maybe gates don't work either because they just recently synced them for all players xd.

Maybe a poll and asking the playerbase choices on how to handle Duisburg can be a nice idea. I know Aek mentioned that it wouldn't be fair because not all players have a forum account. But that didn't stop TMP from having polls on Instagram and Twitter. It seems like their OWN forum is the only place that DIDN'T get to vote about the matter...

As I said though, we don't have the capacity to just recruit people forever. We are looking to expand wherever appropriate and whenever we can manage such expansion. We aren't going to recruit if we cannot manage the size we have. I am not saying everything is 100% perfect, but we do what we can with what resources we can get.

Okay that's fair enough. I'm really grateful for your time and answers. It really means a lot that you are willing to spend your time explaining these things to us and being more transparent.

A lot of times we don't get any answers at all and just get scolded because players don't know behind the scene stuff so we shouldn't talk about it. Even if we just intend to help.

    Again, thanks. ❤️

EDIT: ResTed this applies to you as well.

It is not as easy as just opening recruitment, we need the capacity internally first. If there is no capacity we won't open recruitment. Please also remember we are extremely busy and cannot just open recruitment easily as it takes a lot of time and effort to do recruitments. Whenever we have the time and capacity needed to open recruitment, we of course will.

That is not something for me to comment on. I am not the one making that "label" so it is not my personal opinion on what a "label" for this area is.

Well I figured I asked you since you also apologized on his behalf. It's oddly worrying when a GM is talking about labelling people. And being intentionally vague about it. Even more worrying when he deletes his post and a manager has to apologize for him.

And about recruitment. I understand it's a big effort. I understand you guys have high standards for the moderators. And I understand the process takes months from trainee to report GM to actual GM, etc.

But it is obvious that TMP is in desperate need of a bigger and more active moderating team. For years the focus seems to be solely on restricting the players to reduce reports, rather than having an abundance of moderators to actually moderate the game. And the more active moderators you have, the less reports you will get down the road.

Of course, this can solve some problems, but it will not correct the situation.

Already now we can see, now there are big traffic jams in this place, although I think this is only temporary.

    Why is Duisburg a problem?

    1. It may sound strange, but the reason is in the players who constantly travel to this city. Most of the players 'live' in this city, they constantly travel here and then complain that there are problems. Hey, the map is big, take a few friends and visit the cities of Bulgaria, Turkey, France - there are excellent roads and beautiful places, why see the same thing and then complain? I think that most players know about this city, but they go there anyway. Maybe just delete the city?

    2. These are players again, but they are players from a different category. I'm talking about those who use double and triple couplings. I don't completely understand what they are doing here, but no one has been able to explain to me why they go first to take this trailer, and then to the service to fix it. This is the second reason why there are problems in this place, only two players with such trailers block half of the city.

    3. Wow! This is again a problem with the players! Now these are the players who have not the best computers. Well, I see that I have strong lags, I cannot move comfortably and I just leave this place, move to another city or another server. But many players, experiencing problems with fps, continue (no, try) to move. What for? Why do you get such torment and put other players in danger and create additional problems?

I think it is difficult to refute these reasons, since they are obvious to everyone. Then maybe we (the players) will just ignore this city?

This city needs a more correct change, the current editing of the service is not the best solution and this has created other problems, so this needs to be changed.

GM's try to do this if there is free time, but this will not be fair in relation to other places on the map. If the players themselves create such problems for themselves, then why waste time for this?

The time zone is also a problem and this, as a rule, is not the same for most moderators. Hiring new hires just because of the time zone? Perhaps this is not the way it should be.

Now I will tell you using my experience: I repeatedly controlled this city for an hour, two or three, but this only solves the problem for 10-20 minutes. Most of the time kicks are used to control traffic in this city, but people don't respect other players so much that they just restart the game instead of getting out of the way or out of city. Tighten the rules for this city and apply a ban and not a kick for any violations? Then one hour in this city will turn into several hours of communication in appeals.

You should understand that the work of a moderator is not only about kicking or banning - this is only a small part of our work and it also takes time, but we are all volunteers who devote personal time to the project and sometimes this time is not enough to look after this damned city.

You yourself can change this city, use other roads, other cities, ask your friends to do it. Then only trolls and those who are looking for problems will remain in this city, but they are not looking for games, they are looking only for such problems, then no one will complain.

Why does recruiting more moderators not solve the issue of moderators spending a lot of time on appeals and their other activities? Why can't TMP recruit more moderators? Just why?

  7. Another solution could be a schedule for the Game Moderation team? According to TMP's "meet the team" page they have 13 Game Moderator Leaders and 89 Game Moderators.

Is it really that impossible to make a schedule so that there is always a GM active in Duisburg during peak hours? Is it truly impossible to recruit more moderators? Let the team grow? It's just a couple hours in the evening spread out over a team of 102 moderators.

This is indeed a good implementation because people anymore needs to get aware of that there are also other places/cities or roads on the map to drive on.

There are people who constantly turns around these areas. Leaves from the city but returns to city again (does it a few times by the way). Joins the queue that in front of traffic lights in the city but also complains about the traffic jam and even yells at our staff team to do their job. Imagine joining this kind of queue in a stuck traffic on your own but also complaining about staff. This is actually what makes me laugh, though.

Also I don't really get why people sit in a city for literally hours. I never go to these cities like Duisburg or Calais or C-D road (because I generally do WoT jobs), but I see this situation from some of streamers on Twitch. These people are most of the time sitting in the hotels for hours and even occassionally moving their vehicle or typing something in the in-game chat not to get kicked for being AFK. Not sure how much they enjoy doing it, though.

How would you solve the issue of leaving NCZ like I showed in my post?

  9. I posted this video in the developer announcement post thing, and i'll just post it here again.

First of all I respect TMP for trying out a possible solution, but it just doesn't seem to work. When Duisburg gets busy and there are no GM's actively directing the traffic, people will just crash once they leave the NCZ area.

Honestly a better solution would be some kind of gate that is connected to the traffic lights. It's not really realistic, but at least it works better because then people can't run red lights anymore. They would be blocked by a visible barrier.

Ultimately it's down to players not respecting the traffic rules. And that is a problem that you can't really solve by restricting the gameplay.

  10. If it's too buggy for SIM servers are you guys going to consider adding it to Arcade? Wintermod has always been buggy and the community has always loved it. Removing it entirely just feelsbadman

As I told, you are all ignoring the facts or don't even play on 2018 winter mod. Replying is waste of time.

When AUTHOR of this Winter Mod on his OFFICIAL website told players to test new fixed physics you are all talking trash about deleted and bugged physics in this topic.

Show me your experience, driving 50 km/h on bugged physics is experience for you?

Of course I do those maneuvers on purpose to show what is wrong with it.

And please kids, don't try to teach me how to drive on snow conditions. That's ridiculous

The only proper "evidence" video you gave us is you not having grip on icy roads. Which is completely realistic. This year you even have more grip than previous years. The only bugs that exist in the mod are amplified by the already existing bad SCS physics engine they added in 1.38 or something. (whenefer Fmod died).

As you wish, there you go:

    Cruise control, 90 km/h

Yeah so unrealistic. You can't turn on slippery roads when you full turn the wheel.

Do you know how snow works?

Ohh, even with video evidence you all ignoring the facts. Very hard case ;)

As I said thank god they removed this bugged physics.

Which "facts". Of course the game is unrealistic when you are abusing bugs on purpose. You are spinning circles in service station, as if that is a realistic thing to do?

Give us a video of this bug happening when driving 60KPH on a normal road. THEN you have a right to speak about glitchly mechanics....

    Around 1min in video above, 2775 km/h so it's way more than 300 km/h ;)

Great, do some research firstly or test truck behaviour on the road.

I'm playing since May 2014, Alpha haha but it's offtopic.

Grimes made fix for this physics but waiting for people to test it:

    https://grimesmods.wordpress.com/2017/05/18/frosty-winter-weather-mod/

    Look the comment section.

Bro the physics of the game are like that. This isn't even about wintermod.

Besides that. You are purposefully doing this glitch. This wont happen when ur driving on the road with safe speeds....

Waste of time discuss with players like you. You don't know what's wrong with it and don't even try to do some research. 1 year on TMP and you think it's realistic physics?

I agree with James and i'm from 2015. Where is your 4 years of experience now? Beat my 5 years.
