It is widely known that owning a racing wheel is highly beneficial for smooth control and feeling the roads, your engine and generally being more able to respond to the ever-changing road conditions revolving around weather, traffic and load. The price point for racing wheels puts most TMP users out of reach for obtaining one.
Regardless, If you own a wheel, the information below could hopefully assist with your next delivery and being readily available to respond to hazards.
My Wheel is a G923, but most wheels will have a similar layout to my one, so this is universal as it highlights the minimums for even the barest setups.
Blinkers (left and right on D-PAD) - being able to quickly access the blinkers on the road will allow more attention to be given to the road conditions and not be distracted by other issues occurring around your person, and also allow for less attention to be given to finding your keyboard hotkeys etc.
Exterior and Interior Cameras (A and Y) - quickly and readily being able to change camera angles is beneficial to quickly understand environments of busy traffic and ensure you can check your surroundings if lots of trucks are blocking your mirrors in a high player dense area; mainly referring to the C-D hotspots.
Parking Brake (B) - having the parking brake accessible during heavy traffic is necessary if you are simulating air brakes because using airbrakes when in stop and start traffic is not efficient and will exhaust your air supply.
Trailer Brake (Window Button; X-box wheels only) - the trailer brake combined with your airbrakes can allow you to come to a complete stop very quickly as your trailer usually increases your stopping distance substantially.
Flash Headlights (X) - flashing your headlights to warn other drivers will decrease your chances of coming into a collision with drivers approaching head-on.
Horn (Button 22) - the easiest device to warn others when they are engaging in risky behaviour or driving without due regard for others.
These are only the basics for operating your rig, feel free to add any other hotkeys and I hope that this helps new drivers adjust to the busy nature of TMP.
