    Problems with multiplayer launcher due to new ETS2 directory

    When you use  -homedir, you shoud point at the full path where your profiles and data actually are. If that path is not exactly "D:\games\Euro Truck Simulator 2" (which I doubt, because the game creates different files and sub-folders inside Documents by default, more specifically a "profiles" sub-folder) it won't work.

     

    Another option, open a command prompt with Win+R - cmd.exe - Ctrl+Shift+Enter. Type and  send this:

    mklink /d "C:\Users\yourUserID\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\profiles" "D:\<target folder>"

    Then, make sure that your profiles are actually located inside the <target folder>

    With this, the changed location for the profiles is linked in the default location where ETS2 and TruckersMP will look for it, so you wouldn't need to use -homedir anymore.

     

    EDIT: If you have promods, which takes a good chunk of storage, you can do the same thing, like:

    mklink /d "C:\users\yourUserID\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod" "D:\games\ETS2\mod"

    Then, you put the Promods or any other mods' files you may have inside that "D:\games\ETS2\mod" folder and both the game and TMP should be able to find them.

     

    EDIT 2: The command will give an error message if the name for the link you want to create already exists in the Documents folder. Like, if you try to create a link called mod to a folder in a different drive and there's already a folder named mod where you want to create the link, it won't let you. You'd need to move the folders (e.g. profiles, mod) to the new location in D:\ and then create the links.

    Hi,

    I recently bought a new SSD and therefore I moved my Steam games to a new directory ("A"), including of course Euro Truck Simulator 2.

    In order not to lose the old profiles/saves/mods/etc., I had to create a new shortcut on the desktop regarding the launch of ets2: in properties I marked: " "A:\Steam\steam.exe -applaunch 227300 - homedir "A:\Documents games" ", to be able to connect to the new folder "Documents" (indeed, moved from disk "C" to disk "A") containing the various profiles, mods, configs, etc. [see attached screen below]

    Once this is done, starting the game from this link, it works correctly, without any problems.

     

    So I tried next to install TruckersMP in the same , inserting all the new directories in the launcher settings, both for ETS2 and for ATS, as the default ones are based on the "C" disk.

    Despite this, the Launcher continues to install itself in the "C" (Appdata-Roaming) disk, so that, every time I start the Multiplayer, it automatically creates a new directory of both ETS2 and ETS2MP inside the old and no longer used folder "My Documents" in the "C" drive. I tried, as for normal ETS2, to modify the shortcut on the desktop in the same way, but with negative results: it continues to create new folders, thus accessing new profiles from scratch.

     

    I've looked for solutions on other forums, but I still can't get the multiplayer to work.

     

    I need help solving this problem.

    Problemi con il multiplayer a causa della nuova directory di ETS2

    Ciao,

    Ho recentemente acquistato un nuovo SSD e ho dunque spostato i miei giochi Steam su una nuova directory della nuova memoria di archiviazione ("A"), includendo ovviamente Euro Truck Simulator 2.

    Per non perdere i vecchi profili/salvataggi/mod/ecc., ho dovuto creare un nuovo collegamento sul desktop per quanto riguarda l'avvio di ets2: in proprietà ho segnato: " "A:\Steam\steam.exe -applaunch 227300 -homedir "A:\Documenti giochi" ", per potermi collegare alla nuova cartella "Documenti" (appunto, spostata dal disco "C" a disco "A") contente i vari profili, mod, config, ecc. [vedi screen allegato]

    Fatto ciò, facendo partire il gioco da tale collegamento, funziona correttamente, senza alcun problema. 

     

    Ho così cercato di installare successivamente anche TruckersMP nello stesso Volume, inserendo nelle impostazioni del launcher tutte le nuove directory, sia per ETS2 che per ATS, in quanto quelle predefinite si basano sul disco "C". 

    Nonostante ciò, il Launcher continua ad installarsi nel disco "C" (Appdata-Roaming), così che, ogni volta che avvio il Multiplayer, crea automaticamente una nuova directory sia di ETS2 che di ETS2MP all'interno della vecchia e non più utilizzata cartella "Documenti" nel disco "C". Ho provato, come per ETS2 normale a modificare il collegamento presente sul desktop nella stessa maniera, ma con esito negativo: continua a creare nuove cartelle, accedendo così a profili nuovi da zero.

     

    Ho cercato delle soluzioni su altri forum, ma non riesco a far funzionare lo stesso il multiplayer.

     

    Avrei bisogno di aiuto per la soluzione di tale problema.
