  1. Nice guide, another good tip if you have liftable axles and get stuck, try lifting it and that might get you moving again. Also I have done double trailers there myself and it's possible (not HCT version), the trailers might take some damage because they literally jump around the corner because of weird physics. You might need to get a bit of speed to get that to happen otherwise you'll be taking a bit of time to get out of there. I wouldn't recommend at all if you're not good at maneuvering them around tight roads though.

  2. It usually has to do with PC specs, mainly if you have an HDD I think that's the biggest culprit of this, if your game takes too long to load and players don't load fast enough (if you're in a highly populated area). It's something that TMP has to fix. There's this suggestion that's open for discussion on the forum about it if you want to check it out, give it some attention so it may be considered:

plz update suppor promds canda 1.43 version released so we don´t have to have duplicate files in your computers taking more space.

The new Promods Canada version has been out for quite a bit of time already I think. I can see people in Canada right now (https://map.truckersmp.com/), very small amount of people as usual, but there are people playing there.

  4. Not triggering in a NCZ zone would definitely be a good option and also I think it should not let you join the server until your game has fully loaded instead of right after clicking on "Drive", and then with maybe a 5 second delay after that so terrain can load in, then it will connect you to the server. I think this is definitely a big problem for people with HDDs and/or people that have low end PCs (unfortunately I do myself) and TMP should do something about it already it's very annoying. Although they have added a feature where if you leave your profile it brings you back to the TMP login screen instead of crashing your game so that's nice to get back in quicker but it doesn't solve the problem obviously.

I can confirm from 1st person. The new Canada is better than Kirkines quarry in many ways, especially the physics with a wheel and the total the distance, if you traverce it on a zig-zag. The dirt roads are way better made there than in Iceland and Kirkines combined.

The overal lack of intrest is due to how unpopular TMP has made ATS and the fact you need to buy Oregon and Washington DLCs. Some people always miss the promo days...

Well the thing is with the DLCs you need only 2 DLCs for Canada compared to Promods Europe where you need all of them which right now you need 6 of them (not including Iberia yet) Plus ATS DLCs are quite a bit cheaper too since they're smaller than in ETS2. Even cheaper if you buy the pacific northwest bundle plus you get Idaho. Plus we're around the autumn and winter sales right now.

TMP still does events for ATS and lots of people attend those (Real Ops V12 back in September was a great event). So it seems like TMP still cares about ATS for the most part.

For now ATSMP and even SCS MP is becoming pretty dead. I do find it odd how there's a higher ratio of people playing ETS2MP compared to ATSMP though. Right now as of this reply according to steamcharts the 24 hour peak for ETS2 is around 37k and 4k on multiplayer so that's around a 1:9 ratio of people playing ETS2MP compared to singleplayer or SCS MP. Since this is a weekday there's less people playing, weekend seems to be about 6k players higher but I'm sure the ratio wouldn't change much from that. ATS on weekdays has a 24 hour peak of around 6.5k and only gets around 125-150 players at most on TMP so that's a ratio of around 1:43 to 1:52. It seems like no one wants to join no matter what because only 125-150 players on that's boring. I wouldn't want to waste my time playing basically singleplayer with no AI traffic. It's gonna be hard for ATS to recover from that. Only if hundreds of players agreed to gather together to populate the server at the same time on a weekend that's the only way I can see it becoming alive again, however that would be very hard to setup. The only time that ever happens now is if a DLC comes out. Colorado DLC had a good influx of players for a few weeks. The initial release of Promods Canada attracted even more players just a month later in December 2020 and stayed at a healthy player count for 2-3 weeks I think.

    Hey,

It looks like ProMods Canada 1.1.0 is supported on TruckersMP as of today. You can see the first players in the new areas of the ProMods Canada 1.1.0:

    BK7rqFB.png

Damn barely any players though, you would think it would be popular on TMP since it's similar to the Kirkenes quarry road but for ATS. And there's multiple long dirt roads too. Back in June/July 2019 the Bellingham logging road in Washington was relatively popular for at least a month. That was the last time ATSMP ever had a bunch of players in one area and there were big traffic jams. I was hoping ATSMP could finally have a popular road so it would be alive once again but I guess it's gonna stay dead for now.

  7. Suggestion Name: Remove/disable the simulation 2 server, there isn't enough players for there to be 2 servers

Suggestion Description: I noticed today checking the player count there are around 250 players on the sim 1 server and 2550 on the sim 2 server which isn't even close to full, in fact it's only just over halfway to full.

    Any example images: None

Why should it be added?: Before you say this has been suggested before, even if it has been it was probably a long time ago before SCS MP released and TMP lost a good amount of players after SCS MP so I think a suggestion like this being made now is more reasonable than it was before.

Right now there's no need to have 2 servers if the simulation 1 server isn't even close to full. The servers don't even get over 3000 players anymore with the SCS MP being out and especially since it has mod support now. Having 1 server will allow people to find others more easily outside of CD road and the playerbase won't be split up as much. The simulation 2 server can just be put offline temporarily and if TMP gets a surge of players it can be enabled if the simulation 1 server gets full again.

Also I'm thinking even the US and SGP servers should be removed too it's not even worth having them if there's only around 30 people playing on them. With no AI traffic in TMP yet there's really no point in playing on those servers and spending money to keep them up. You might as well play singleplayer or SCS MP. Whether you want to go with this side suggestion it doesn't matter that much it's not a big deal it's only about 30 players on those 2 servers combined anyway so it doesn't split the players as much as the 2 main simulation servers do. But to me, it just seems pointless to keep them up for only around 30 players at most.

I've seen a lot of great shots on the forum and on social media from the operation.

I prepared  something a little different for example: the photos of the Roadtrain. It's a tradition, we can see something big and unusual at Real Operations. I'm glad I was able to take a picture somewhere on the roads.

There's a decent amount of operations and roads that I didn't know were even included in the event because they weren't marked on the blog post, from what I saw it was just around the exterior parts of Arizona and a tiny bit in California, I didn't know they meant everything inside the red line instead of the red line being the roads the operations take place on, oh well I saw a good amount of events anyway. In order I went through 11 (started + ended at flagstaff and went on the roads on the red line), 12 (although didn't notice anything here for some reason), 13, went through Nogales but didn't see easter egg unfortunately, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7.

I took a bunch of screenshots of the operations that I did go through though (except 11 didn't think of taking screenshots at first) https://forum.truckersmp.com/index.php?/profile/136318-dragonslayingmaster1000/&status=220148

  9. Wow, checking up on old threads and I found this one has a decent amount of replies in 2021 for this post even though this post was made in 2019 when there were lots of players in Iceland for the first month or two of Promods MP being out. It died out after that. However, it had a period sometime in between where the promods server had 2500+ players again (peaked at 2800 one day) and Iceland was decently populated again but it was short lived just like back in 2019.

See this thread, it was around late November 2020, December, and early January 2021, and I tried to promote Iceland in chat at the Kirkenes quarry (and encourage others to do it too in that thread) to get more people there. However, even if that worked a bit it was short lived once again, had a good time driving there again before lots of people left there:

Anyway, I'm glad this guide still helps people out. Certain things in there can definitely be applicable in singleplayer too since there's barely any players on promods servers anymore.

Jan 2022 Update: Iceland has a decent amount of players again in the new populated fishing village called Norðurfjörður (in northern Iceland).

    Hello @dragonslayingmaster1000

Thanks for your well-featured guide. Please would you be able to update your guide so that Duisburg in particular is reflective of the changes made by the Add-On Team; that moved the F7 round the corner.

Otherwise, I may have to archive your guide.

  11. I've been driving an HCT in the Kirkenes quarry for a long time, since promods MP released and while I'm very skilled at it and never get stuck by myself, other people often mess me up mainly because they don't know where to stop at corners and I'm not able to make the turn or barely can make it. I usually wait if I see they're pulled up too far but if I'm in the middle of the turn already and just realize they pulled up too far I'm screwed. I will be giving some tips on how to drive here and where to stop at all corners/switchbacks. I will be providing some screenshots too to provide some clarification on some turns. Some of the stops I made you don't have to stop for if you just have a single trailer such as on some of the turns you can easily make without going too wide. In the screenshots I provided, screenshot #6 is a good example of that. I probably couldn't make that turn with an HCT if there was oncoming traffic because I can't go wide enough to avoid the trees but with a single trailer you'll definitely be fine.

    Tips:

    • Definitely the most important is to stay as far to the right as you possibly can.
    • Don't drive too fast, 20-30 km/h max when there's lots of players maybe up to 40-50 on some of the few straight areas there are.
    • If you're waiting before a corner don't pull up too far or else long trailers/HCTs will not be able to get around it. The videos below show where you should stop. Look for landmarks such as signs or other stuff to remember where you should stop.
    • If you're stuck just f7 or reload, I actually got banned once because I was overtaking someone who was waiting for no reason when there was no oncoming traffic and he wasn't going around the corner and all of a sudden he blocks me and I would have made it around the corner before oncoming traffic approached which they were far from the corner so I had plenty of time. I was using an HCT so I couldn't back up. Thankfully I got unbanned for that because it wasn't my fault but f7 or reload if you ever get into a similar situation, even if it wasn't your fault just do it if you can't get unstuck within a minute or can't move at all.

Sorry about the lag on the videos, my PC is a potato but they're smooth enough that you know what's going on and where I stop at each corner.

  12. Suggestion Name: Suggestion to limit high ping kicks (600ms ping average)

Suggestion Description: I've been getting kicked very often for the past few days because my wifi has been unstable and I often get a ping spike that lasts 2-3 seconds and plus I live in the US and playing on an EU server I have 150 ping average so even just 2-3 seconds of a ping spike can kick me from the server and it's very annoying. I have a suggestions on limiting it such as when players aren't nearby or when driving at a low speed. First off you can't get kicked for ping at all in an arcade server or non collision zone. For normal servers this is how it will work: It will be based on how fast you're driving and how close other players are to you. I'm not sure if it can be made so the distance thing can only apply to those behind you rather than oncoming traffic too. I understand that could be hard to code so if you can't that's alright. At 85 km/h or above you can't get kicked if someone is at least 110m away from you. From 70-85 km/h you can't get kicked if someone is 85m away. From 50-70 km/h you can't get kicked if someone is 60m away from you. 50 km/h or below you can't get kicked at all because at that speed players can easily brake or react to you lagging back at that low speed.

    Any example images: Not needed

Why should it be added?: It would definitely make it easier for those on wifi so we aren't getting kicked for high ping in situations where the high ping won't affect others like in lower populated areas and at city speeds.

  13. Only thing I use is truck stability, trailer stability, suspension stiffness. I only put the truck/trailer stability to about quarter or 1/3 and suspension stiffness to full. I don't use the hshifter thing because I only use keyboard and mouse steering and as for the double reversing I can only do for a bit if my trailers are straight already so I wouldn't try reversing into a delivery spot. Thanks for the guide though it's useful for the more advanced drivers who have a steering wheel and shifter.

  14. Hell yeah! I think ATSMP is finally going to get some real popularity after all this time of this game being released almost 5 years ago (can't believe it's been that long already)! This is definitely a surprise both for Promods Canada to come out before the end of the year and TMP supporting it the first hour it released. Just finished downloading it before the download servers get overloaded and can't wait to try it out!

Btw just a suggestion, you should increase the player count to 2000 or 3000 because there could be tons of players that want to get on. It's already approaching 1300 players and getting close to the 1500 player limit.

Edit: Thanks for increasing the limit to 2300! I think it's going to be much more needed on Saturday night for sure it could hit well above 1500 players. The fact you only need Oregon and Washington DLC makes it quite a bit easier to play. There was a 50-100 player queue last night I think. Hopefully it does reach an even more impressive player count as more people possibly download it today.
