  1. Totally agree with the situation needing addressing.

I've been there a couple of times, and have since not been back because of the bad parking and people trying to either maneuver around trucks that are parked outside of marked parking spaces (are there even marked spaces for trucks?), or players doing u-turns or trying to park all over the place.

It is clearly a nice meet up, but it's also clearly not an appropriate place for it, there is literally the whole map to find somewhere to hang out in large numbers that would be far less disruptive to others who are trying to actually play the game.

  2. Honestly I feel they were all very obviously April Fools pranks, but also poorly implemented.

Forum announcement leading to a rick roll, just hovering over the link gave a youtube link...
No support for ATS made no sense as TMP events regularly happen on ATS.
Upside down role names, I didn't notice until mentioned, but the only explanation would be if that was done on purpose via TMP.
C-D road blockage, just a map change, nothing TMP hasn't done before, ironically probably a solution to 50%+ of 'rec ban' reports.
Funny music, just outright annoying, and obvious once someone realises the date.

There were a lot of questions within the discord support channel and questions on the forum, so clearly the 'jokes' weren't all that well thought out.

As always for TMP, relatively good ideas, but poorly implemented.

  3. 90% of the time I am driving a WoT job, so 90km/h max.
I avoid C-D at all costs, it's just not worth it, plenty of people to meet outside of that bad road.

I pay attention to priority and give way signs, however I do go through red lights if there is no reason to stop, such as the TMP rule states.

Essentially it is common sense, and at the end of the day it is a truck sim, not a race sim... :woah:

  4. Your (and everyone else's) main issue is that TMP is massively un-optimized.

If you play the game in singleplayer, you will have better FPS, even adding more and more traffic etc.
Of course the mod TMP acts differently, needing to constantly load multiple people over a network etc.

Anyone, with any hardware, experiences lag in a populated area, better PC specs will help to an extent, but you will always lose many frames.
    It is a TMP issue.

Unfortunately since 1.50 was released, TMP has seemingly been unable to figure itself out and has had a significant performance drop.

  5. You could also not constantly drive up and down the c-d...?
There's so much more map to explore, and very much more enjoyable to drive.
Trolls and noobs will always find trouble on the c-d, the more people that avoid the area and explore more of the map, the better it is for everyone!

Everything was great! Just like the previous events. i think the one negative thing is roads are closed in the destination city. we cant arrived  our company. we have to type /disconnect  for arriving. i think you should take a place or company in destination city n  direct us there imo. Big thank you to those who contributed. ❤️

It's generally advised not to take a job / cargo, at any convoy, TMP event or otherwise.
If you have a cargo you are more likely to slow down and create gaps during the convoy.
And at the end, even if the whole city is accessible, everyone parks up neatly in the companies available, and also like to take photos. Players who have a job then ruin photo opportunities when trying to deliver their job.

If you insist on doing a job during a convoy, hopefully you are thoughtful enough to take a light cargo as to not hold up the convoy.
At the end you can make a manual save inside the end destination non collision zone, dismiss your job and trailer, park up nicely, and then load your job after the convoy officially ends, or disconnect from the server, and then deliver your job.

Another instance where, while I was AFK at a gas station near Calais, an experienced player intentionally crashed into me. This caused my truck to move onto the road, blocking the way for 4 hours.

To stop that from happening in the future, if you press F1 to pause your game, no other player can cause damage to you or move you.
Or also, maybe don't be AFK for 4 hours, and just close the game??

  8. If changing your brightness settings don't help, and you still need your high beam on to safely drive at night, you could consider not having any additional / auxiliary lights on your truck, and just use the truck's stock high beam that are in the headlight unit.

People who drive around constantly with their high beam on when they have covered the whole front of their truck in additional lights is the worst.
If you only use the trucks stock lights, then it isn't so bad for everyone else, hopefully that may also help you see at night without annoying other players 🙂

  9. Interesting...
In response to a lot of negative feedback of the time and date being removed from the new 'player panel', website reports no longer require the date and time to be specified.
So instead of listening to the supposedly 'important' community, TMP have just completely removed a feature, which was useful for players and TMP staff alike.
The consolidation of the removal of the time and date still does not answer the questions posed by VTC leaders and event organisers in regards to the removal of an in-game date / time for proof of event attendance. Therefore everyone actually trying to use TMP in this regard is at a disadvantage.

It is honestly such a shame TMP has lowered it's standards, in other areas than only this one.

  10. I, and others I know have the same issue, regardless of computer specs or internet connection specs.
It only happens on TMP, on singleplayer the photos are saved as expected.

When taking a photo on TMP there is enough lag to cause the photo to be saved when the shutter effect happens, causing the black screen.

This started when 1.50 was supported, which is also when significant lag started to be present in TMP, which aside from maybe a few optimisations, there is still ridiculous amounts of lag on TMP. Again, not on singleplayer.

    100% a TMP issue.

  11. I do hope for the Halloween Experience on the 27th October that the queue waiting time isn't longer than the actual event like last year. Obviously it will be busy but it was pretty ridiculous.
I also hope unlike last year I won't have other plays trying to race me and overtake me as I was enjoying the experience.
It is stated that "The routes are designed to be driven with large gaps between each player. Please keep to the speed limits set on each route", so I hope this is enforced and players get removed if ruining it for others.

I can assure you it was not tested by the management team as otherwise I would have tested it and I certainly wasn't involved in that. So I hope that clears up that assumption you had 😀 I cannot speak on behalf of who tested it as that is not my department here but just letting you know it sure wasn't just management members who tested this/gave their input.

Apologies for making an assumption about 'upper staff' in general, I did assume this included senior / management / leaders of each team, depending on the structure of each team (of course I don't know the details).

Of course assumptions are hit and miss, but to me it did make sense that at least one or two managers (or equivalent) from each team would have tested a relatively major update.

It seems a shame this wasn't the case, as in terms of the moderation team, I've heard conflicting statements to Luna's early comment in this topic about how the exact date / time is not needed for reports, but it is actually very helpful or sometimes warranted.

I appreciate your transparency with your reply, thanks for taking the time to clear up any misinformation my assumption may have generated.

  13. It seems aesthetics over functionality have been prioritised with this update, and that is such a shame.

We all knew this update was coming, and unfortunately it is a massive disappointment.

I do want to say massive kudos to whoever was involved for adjusting the width limit very quickly with the initial bad feedback from multiple players.

The general usefulness of this new player panel has decreased significantly from it's previous iteration, yes, it does of course have a more modern look. However that modern look is instantly negated by every sub-menu still being the old style. And honestly, being able to compare old and new literally side by side, the new aesthetics really don't outweigh the new, limited, functionality.

There is so much wasted space, for example the ID column is too wide for what is a max 4 digit number that needs to be displayed. All of that redundant spacing needs to be streamlined, currently, it is a very intrusive window, that a lot of people rely on to drive safely.

The scaling is also very unhelpful as it is linked with the chat window. I use 2560x1440 resolution, and luckily I can have the scaling on the minimum setting to still be able to read chat, which thankfully makes the new player panel smaller, however the text within the player panel, specifically usernames are too small. Increasing the scaling makes the player panel more and more intrusive.

Another change is the use of icons after a username to display a Steam friend, VTC member, Patreon member or TMP staff member, instead of using coloured usernames. This seems like a massively unuseful and cluttered change. A coloured username was instantly recogniseable at a glance, and now these icons require the user to have an increased minimum width to be able to view them all with longer tags + usernames.

One thing I personally liked on the old scoreboard was that it could be made as long / tall as needed, now there is also a limit to that, which is a personal annoyance for me.

I am very curious how much testing this new player panel had. Assuming it was done by upper staff within TMP, this really shows how disconnected they are to the average player.

It seems recently the quality of TMP has been decreasing and it is such a massive shame.

I hope in near future the player panel can be improved and suggestions by the community are taken onboard.

Finally while I agree that people should drive at a minimum speed (>20-30km/h) I'm completely happy to see some people climbing at 30km/h as it's actually something you see regularly in real life. Not many trucks would climb big hills like that at >50km/h!

I do agree with your sentiment here, however it just doesn't work on TMP.
The point I was trying to make is if the same people took locos to the featured zone they would cause massive tailbacks. Although by the looks of things now it's live, that's the least of anyone's worries...

These events aren't intended to be traffic-free; they're meant to be in relatively high-traffic areas to give players something extra to see and experience.

Of course there is going to be traffic, I wasn't expecting a free run, but there is already at least a 2 hour queue before you even get to the event zone, which is surely ridiculous.

I'd imagine there will be some smart signage in place for the event, along with lane closures. That said, I don't want to be overly critical of something I haven't experienced yet; otherwise, I'd only be making unsubstantiated claims/predictions.

In my experience from the previous Featured Zone and any Real Ops, the majority of people don't adhere to any smart signage, especially when it comes to speed.

As with being critical about something I hadn't experienced, see any recent TMP event.... It's all the same.

  15. I don't have high hopes for this, unfortunately.
The Alps, on Sim 1, is already a mess, either with people driving far too fast for the road itself (the classic mindset of going to a busy area but still needing to do 110km/h, or with all the 'cool kids' hauling locomotives, doing <10km/h, basically blocking.
And even with GM's clearly in the area, nothing is done. It is chaos.

A featured zone needs an area that is easily driven normally, but is then affected by changes such as lanes closures, smart signage etc, making it a unique experience, rather than slightly modifying an already slow road with some aesthetics.

How is adding restrictions to an already restricted area (the game literally tells you commercial trucking is not permitted) going to add fun to an already stale TMP experience??

If I'm going to check out the changes, it will most likely be on Sim 2, with hopefully a more respectful, conscientious group of people. The lack of TMP staff on Sim 2 moving a few custom vehicles, as will be the case on Sim 1, will, I'm sure, not really take anything away from the experience...

You could always use a lower powered truck with a heavy cargo that is available within base game, or within the Heavy Cargo Pack DLC.

As long as you're not massively under the speed limit on a busy route, you'll be fine. Ignore anyone who needs to do 110km/h 😂
E.g, parts of the c-d have a limit of 60km/h, you can't be blamed for doing the speed limit 🤷‍♂️

  17. There's no reason for TMP to re-build it.
The road is bad to drive because it is overpopulated.

SCS will soon rework the remaining area, which will shift TMP traffic one way or another.

Either way, aside from the trolls / ban evaders using a new Steam account every Steam sale, we all have a whole continent to explore. There are so many nice roads to drive, especially within a MMO experience.

It's a shame everyone wants to queue, rather than drive.

  18. Honestly, it's a mystery.
Everyone wants to queue, add at least 1 hour to their job time and get trolled by idiot players on the c-d, rather than explore the entire map.
There are so many newer areas where the TMP mod would work wonders, i.e multiple IRL players could interact with each other at realistic junctions, etc.

But of course TMP just want that 3rd party social media 'wow factor', hence the constant support of the 'busy' c-d road, even if it goes against their entire set of rules. :thisisfine:

  19. Ask the average TMP player, and I'm sure most would answer the same, cars are a curse on the servers.

At best, 99% of car drivers are reckless, e.g, must do 110km/h and weave around traffic on the C-D, and to the extreme, cars are used to troll legitimate truck driving players.

So the idea of promoting the use of cars with accessories is mind blowing. I can't see how this will have a positive overall effect for the average player, on a truck sim game.

Surely the add-on team's time could have been better spent on other projects to make the overall TMP experience better? (Real Ops 16 was very underwhelming...). Instead of working on a few visual accessories for the most reckless drivers on the servers.

Once again a disappointing direction from the upper management of TMP.

  20. Hey,

Since TMP supported 1.50, FPS drops / lag / desync, seems to be affecting everyone right now.

A way to test it for yourself is to play singleplayer, or even convoy mode, if you have smooth game play, it is TMP's issue.
It seems TMP is very 'un-optimised' since supporting 1.50.
I also constantly have FPS drops, and my ping is unstable or generally higher than normal. Same goes for numerous people I play the game with.

Only thing we can do it wait for TMP to sort it out.
As a side note, it seems your ban date maybe coincided with the release of 1.50? You being banned wouldn't effect your connection with TMP once unbanned.
    Hope this helps!
