Xbox Series controller issue

Echosierra

Question

I have an issue with my controller. So basically ingame i can't make smooth turns because the wheel turns too fast after a certain number of degrees. Everything was fine before I reinstalled the game (but all settings went back to default sadly). Here's the video showing the problem (look at the yellow line): https://imgur.com/AO04bT3

Hello Echosierra76,

it seems like your controller end deadzone is messed up. I know you can change that via steam settings, but I don't know how exactly, because I don't play with controller.

The deadzoning is probally set to "calibration", that's a setting on the "steam input" I know of.

I sadly can't tell you how to exactly get to those kind of settings, but I think your issue comes from that.
You may find out how to get in that "steam input" so you can configure your controller, via internet.

Kind regards,

Hey,

what else you could do is, create another profile and try if the controller is working fine there. Just complete the controlwizard.

If so, you can past the "controls.sii" from the new profile, to your current profile.

This file can be found here: C:\Users\Yourname\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\profiles\3830202D2042544E202D2031

Hey,

As your controller works in other games, I suspect it is likely due to your in-game settings.

Go to the controller tab in ETS2, and at the top, make sure your steering sensitivity is set to a lower amount(move slider). Scroll down to check your deadzones as well. Make sure the deadzone is set large enough so that any unintentional movements don't get registered.

Hello@Echosierra76

You can try to set your controller calibration on Steam

Right click on the game on STEAM, Properties - Controller Settings, go in and tap on the joystick, there is a deadzone prevention on the right, pull the left slider to the right and a yellow area will appear in the middle of the joystick, within this area the hardware deadzone will be ignored. Don't adjust it too much.
