  1. They all have to be added in manually which is a problem when you have only 1 developer working on the mod itself.

There may only be one developer, but surely it wouldn't be hard to find a small ring of volunteers to test a version on a quiet server (Re purpose US1 to) 'Beta Test' the mod, instead of just throwing it out in the wild and causing days like yesterday and today?

  2. as to why the updates couldn't be consolodated into one I don't know... so far it's taken me a good 10 minutes to download the latest revision of R5.. a nice and relaxing night of driving after a stressful day.... Yeah Right...

Either use more download sources or a better host, but jeez, it shouldn't take stupid amounts of time to download 9.7 MEG,.

  3. I think you guys skipped the log for R3 though... Just out of curiosity, what was in that?

Same as this one... NCZ Updates only I should think. updates have been flying out recently due to the move to game version *.17. New prefabs, a nice large player base to find the ones that have been updated.

  4. Suggestion Name: Alter the look of the settings window very slightly to make settings easier to see.

Suggestion Description: At the moment, the checkboxes and sliders are far away from the text description of what they do. I find it a bit difficult to see immediately which checkbox toggles which option.

I suggest slightly changing every other setting so that people can immediately see what checkbox will modify what option.

How you do it is up to you, but a couple of ideas:

alternating background colors (only a few shades different, so it's enough to see)

a rectangle around each option and it's checkbox or slider.

a visible table only showing the rows; there is no need to see columns*

Mouse-over each option to slightly brighten the background of that one option, spanning 100% of the tab's subwindow

*unless you fancy adding a list of default values beside current values for users like me who really don't like the "Set defaults" button

Any example images: Nope... My upload limit on the forum is currently 42kb. not enough for screenshot.. but you can visualize it.

Why should it be added?: So people spend less time farting around in the settings and more time driving.

  5. I support this, actually. at a moments notice, you can see if the fella in front of you is a real drive, or if he's likely to un/intentionally ram you and cause annoyance and/or damage.

Worked out on avg. time between crashes (either pvp or scenery bashing... a mix of, maybe?)

while we're on the topic of visual indicators, maybe a dot/circle near their name that changes color, depending on average ping over time....but that's really for another suggestion if someone fancies writing that up for me ;)

  6. Surely the server should (force?) close the connection after it has 'kicked' for being AFK? Whether the client is responding (Game running) or not (Minimised), it should be able to close the connection.

  7. The ability to drive a flatbed and pick up/tow a friend/stranger to their destination.... I like this idea.

Screw towing trailers, I wanna tow TRUCKS!

    +1

Ah, my apologies, I understand now.

Fair enough, I suppose that would cause some issues, but I think the chances of that are quite minimal.

Thank you for the feedback ^^

Why not ghost the truck being recovered during said operation. I can forsee ghosting being a requirement to mount a truck on a flatbed trailer.

On a second thought, this would work much better within the VTC's where the players have some chance of knowing eachother enough to /not/ tow the recoveree away from their destination.. Trolls block people now, imagine if they can pick up your truck and drive you around? of course, you'll be stuck on the trailer because nobody is allowed to sit in the truck being recovered... no chance of letting the handbrake off and rolling off the trailer.

  8. Suggestion Name: Add a set time-length for connections -- or force the connection to wait until the game has finished loading before the attempt is made.
Suggestion Description: At the moment, trying to connect to EU2 is a joke. I was driving on it for at least half an hour today, then I get disconnected for seemingly no reason, and now I can't re-connect without being autokicked.

Why should it be added?: So people can connect to the server.

  9. OBS for Streaming is a good idea, but when it comes to capturing cold hard evidence, I use ShadowPlay by nVIDIA (Supported graphics cards only). I press ALT+F10 and I have the last 20 minutes of footage captured gets dumped to my hard disk ready for Vegas Pro to have a go before it finally hits YouTube.

If I'm lucky, Steam will force a screenshot just before ETS2MP ha a chance to say "You need to stop your truck before making screenshots"

I do run at full graphics but on a relatively strong computer (2500k, GTX 970 and 16GB RAM), but I'll try with lower graphics.

(@Chris: My Firefox uses twice as much with one tab open :P)

Nice Specs... Though I still get lag around Europoort, and I run a pair of QuadCore Xeon CPU's in a workstation with a 650Ti SSC, 32GB of ECC-RAM... And believe me when I say she will manipulate HD Video as fast as it can play it.

  10. No, I definitely agree with Mr. Mord here, They [ETS2MP services] have been worse since crimbo/new year... for a couple of months now, It's taken me up to 10 minutes to get connected to EU2, and the moment it gets connected?

YOU WERE KICKED (HIGH AVERAGE PING (2000+MS))

This was earlier today when the server stats page was reporting 2 players on the server (me and a friend).

It's a shame, really, because I like to use EU2 to take new players and friends to help them learn to drive trucks and the rules of ETS2MP before joining the masses in EU1. It's quiet,

Only thing is, there's not a lot that can be done about it as far as I know. I know the services have been suffering with DDOS attacks recently (as in, the past few months), but there's owt all that can be done about that.. Just like there can't be anything done about the people who connect to the game just to block/ram/troll true players; or the prevention of such players joining.

  11. Wait up before gunning this one down, Takumi...

Yes, your right, mods always get turned down.

Think about it. The mods he has listed will only affect what He see's, not what You see of him... The mods (I will assume) have zero effect on physics, other players can't see the mods, other players are not affected by the mods. Did you see the screenshots?

That Unlimited Camera Position mod looks like a good crack to me... I mean, yeah, awkward to play with, but the results on YouTube would be spectacular if he pulls it off... DashCAM

The new Truck Display Mod? Well, can you see what his dashboard says when you're driving?

    +1

+1 to most mods that DO NOT affect the data being transmitted to the server, be it custom skins, multicam, texturepacks, enginesounds, etc, etc. (ClientSide Mods)

----- my exception to this, is new/replacement trailers that get implemented server-side; though this has already been accepted as new trailer skins.

-1 to most mods that DO affect the data being transmitted to the server, such as physics modifications, truck performance enhancements (bigger engines for example), Replacement Trucks (Long-nosed trucks)

  12. For example a new player can spend 2 1/2 hours a day on eu1 then is moved to free Rome. After a week of no kicks or bans he his given an extra 1 hour, making people earn there time on the server.

If you get kicked for stuff other than AFK then you lose 10 mins every time unless you are given them back by the admits.

No... Just no, no and definitely NOT.

Like skullscar, I'm not lucky enough to have a place of employment to go to. It just so happens that I spend less time on EU1 because of the trolls.. Go and look for my posts in the reporting thread. (Pages 11 - 13)

Requiring me to spend a month of sundays to 'earn' my time on EU1 again so I can drive from Aberdeen to Hungary and back in a day? I'd rather uninstall the mod and be done with it.

and Des, you're right. everybody DOES know the rules, most of them are self explanitory.

  13. I would love to see more challenging maps, but  as already mentioned, some people can't back up trucks 'n trailers to save their lives.

That said, I'm sure as my icon is a skull 'n crossbones that I read somewhere that they plan on adding a 'thing' in BETA where people can finish eachothers jobs (to do with economy update, or whatever).. Maybe something interesting could come of that.

I wouldn't have a problem backing up 5 or so trailers when I finish 1 job, even if I don't get paid for it. I would love to see much more realistic and tenfold harder map(s).. I'll put my money on the reason most people speed around is because they're bored.

  14. people would be able to organize who goes first before having to take a massive turn that might screw everything up.

They should do this anyway. If somebody is closer to the exit than me in the NCZ that we're in, I let them go. It's just being curtious. People trying to race eachother out of the ports and not giving a monkeys uncle about other players is what causes all the mess. What is a few moments on a 12-hour (in-game time) drive? Not enough to make it worth racing about and causing damage.

  15. Only downside to that, is if the server you're on is behind the time of the server that you plan to use to drive to 'nearly finish' the job.. the job becomes late automatically just because the time synced ahead.

as to whether the time goes back again when rejoining the 'original' server will reset the job to it's early state, I do not know. I haven't tested that far yet.

  16. Scania Truck Driving Simulator? - trolls won't spend (more) money to do their dirty work.. and this is (potentially) more money to SCS, so to sweeten them up to work with the fellas making ETS2MP.

everybody (except thy admins, of course) should have to complete the driving courses on ScaniaTDS before being allowed on the servers. It took me 3 hours to complete, and some of the challenges did take a couple of attempts. Especially reversing around courses!

I also wish there were some more interesting roads on ETS2, like the mountain road challenge in ScaniaTDS where there's a chance of falling off the edge, Buuuuuuuuut this is a suggestion for SCS themselves.

@PusuitGamer6: Neither am I driving with a steering wheel., but with a keyboard. With a bit of training you will master that, too.

EG. I know someone who started playing two days ago and even started directly in multiplayer, driving with keyboard. He drove very good using keyboard only.

Steering wheel? There's a nice thought. I've just been downgraded from an xbox 360 controller to a Logitech Extreme3D Joystick due to the wriing on the xbox controller taking a turn for the worse.
enough practice will get you driving like a professional no matter what controls you're using.

  17. I can push the Volvo's with the 750HP engines to 106mph (176-ish KM/h) while under no load, but we are talking enough strain on the engine to blow it to kingdom come and back. The truck does get as skittish as anything.. two-wheeling around reasonably easy bends and such...

I don't think I like this idea: There's already too many bad drivers on the servers (at least on EU#1) for this kinda stuff.

  18. +1

maybe another line a little way inside the NCZ so that players know where to be when the tractor of the driver in front leaves the NCZ... I've seen weird things happen where one person leaves an NCZ while another player is 'no colided' with the trailer.

  19. +1

What I find works, is wait somewhere (quiet) until kicked. once kicked, the game time doesn't actually advance at all, so I found the other day when I was AFK and kicked without realizing. I had driven 200km at 15:45 in-game time; finished the delivery and still got paid for it... nothing else on the road what-so-ever. Once the game has saved, re-connect to MP and time will advance to server's current time, and you still have payment for the job.

  20. what is correct format??

    http://forum.ets2mp.com/index.php?/topic/7-suggestion-format-needs-to-be-followed/

Pinned on the top of the suggestion forum.

    Example:

    Suggestion Name: Call admins cops

Suggestion Description: How about we reword admins to cops, and instead of bans we can say suspended license, kicked can be off with a warning. This is all to extend the realisim that euro truck 2 is so good at.

    Any example images: Nope.

Why should it be added?: It would make the game more realistic. There are no 'Admins' on real roads, only cops.
