Red Lights | What do you do?

Hi,

For me If there's no one around or the intersection has barriers on either side then I'll just ignore the red lights as I don't see any reason to stop and wait, but if I see people on tab I'll always stop.

Well i think it doesn't matter if there is no people. Its still traffic law to wait on a red light also Moderator can be watching you. But its just a game so it depends on the individual but i would wait

I try to play the game as close to real life as possible, so the natural thing for me to do is to stop. 

I think it just adds to the realism especially if you are playing on ProMods or Simulation 1. If you are on the arcade server, I think its fair to run them, but for simulation purposes, I think it's best to stop. 

I also play with Traffic Fines on too (added realism once again) so I know if I don't stop i'll get an in-game fine.

If it's at a light with XXX and only one way people can come trough i most likely not stop exept when there are people there , if it's at any other place with lights i always stop

Am I the only one who feels like the traffic lights are green for example and as soon as you get closer they turn red

I usually stop on red light but sometimes I do not stop when I'm in hurry.

It depends on the situation. There are some junctions where I would never come to a stop, regardless if the traffic light is red or not. Though there are some junctions where I would definetly come to a stop if the light is red. (e.g. the junction on the outskirts of Duisburg).

I should say that I always do jobs, whether it is World of Trucks jobs or normal ones (but of course with my own trailer). Also my "Get fined if you break any traffic rules" setting (or whatever you call it) is always enabled, so whenever I spot a red light I always slow down, stop and wait until it gets the green light (it does not matter whether there are players around).

Even if players are nearby, I do right turn if it is on 2-lane road with separated directions (the US style), usually stopping at first. In normal game, I could get fined for it, but it's true that Germany permanently allows turning right at some intersections.

If there is nobody, I hang out the way I want, but if there are people, I follow the rules because the wrong moves we do affect other players.

It depends on many factors.

 

If the cross is just in one direction driveable (the crossed street is closed), then I ignore the traffic lights.

If the cross is in all directions or at least |- driveable, I stop at the red light. Even if there are no players around. I have to stop in reallife too even if noone is around

It has often happened that the traffic light is green and the player wants to turn on the other side, then he does and then there is an accident and then he complains even although he has to wait

When I am at traffic lights, I stop, depending on the situation. If I am sure that it is safe to go, I will go, and if there is nobody around me. However, if there are others in the city, I would not run through a red light, as I would be at fault if a collision was to occur.

For me, I treat the lights as if it were a give way intersection. Red light = yield sign. Green light = right of way. But if someone stops for the light even though no one is coming I will not pass unless there is another lane, and I am still making any turns legally. (I will not make pass someone turning left  then make a left turn from the right lane)

 

Plus, if I want to drive properly like irl, I play singleplayer.

You'll be fine to drive through the light as it's not a listed rule. As long as you don't do it around people or dangerously drive through the light or affect other users whilst doing it you'll be fine. As many other people have said this will still apply whether there is a mod there or not.
