How i can CHANGE the CHAT key ? ( it is the Y )

my main problem is the Y key is already bound to the Y key, and as always, when i press the BRAKE ( bound to Y ) the chat is automaticly APPEARS, and block the breaking itself.

 

my question is HOW i can change the Truck MP key binding from the Y to the another key ?

Hi @Hatlabu_Farkas,

 

You cannot actually rebind the TruckersMP keys, you need to rebind the Euro Truck Simulator keys in the settings. As I remember, the developers said it would make a lot of work to allow players to rebind the TMP buttons.

First of all, I would like to welcome you to the forums and congratulate with your first post here!

 

Unfortunately, it is impossible to change the bindings that are associated with TruckersMP such as text chat button (Y) or CB radio button (X). That means, you have to rebind the keys the game uses and find a different key for the brake, so you do not open chat every time you try to brake. I am more than sure you will ask why that has not been implemented before. I cannot give you the exact answer but as far as I know, that is not a task our development team is really focused on

I'm unsure as to whether you can change the keybindings for TruckersMP (unless theres a way to do it manually through the files, but I wouldn't recommend that). I think your best bet is just rebinding the brake key to a different key. It's probably the easiest and least hassle way of doing it

first of all, thanxx for all the warm welcoming lines
after that i am JUST install the win 10 for the Trucker MP to play with my fellow collegues, they plays here once, twice a day, and my UBUNTU 18  is not a good soil to install EXE frameworks for a 1.37.4 version number native LINUX game.
i am sad, because i am expect WAY more FPS speed from my desktop after install WIN 10 , and i am expected more setup possibilities.
all of my 1.37 mods ( for renault T , and rain effect booster , etc ) is do not even appears in the MP version ( 1.36 )
one admin try to say hello in the game while i am driving my first ride , so i am unable to answer to his messages, i have to type /r ( reply i think ) and after he sayd the KEY binding is DO NOT AVAILABLE for me, so he ask me to REBIND my own control setup keys.
last thing is sadly the roads do not contains ANYTHING, just players, looks like a huge MMORPG game with trucks .
