This is not a problem. I don't imagine 1.38 will be as complex as 1.37 is. We're making great progress on 1.37, and will start work on 1.38 whenever that is released.

It's quite frustrating to see this same concern crop up time and time again, when it's been addressed quite comprehensively by both development and well established community members.

 

You yourself have essentially answered your own gripe by outlining the contents of 1.38 — A map expansion, and an enhancement to the Special Transport Addition.

 

Special Transport cargo requires AI escort. It's therefor not allowed:

Ping - If your ping is over 600ms to the server, you will be disconnected from the server in order to avoid desync issues for others. This ping check is taken as an average.

Away from keyboard - Being inactive for over 10 minutes.

Car with trailer - Attaching a trailer to your car (not including the caravan.)

Truck with caravan - Attaching the caravan to your truck.

Headlights - Headlights must always be on between the hours of 21:00 (9 PM) - 05:00 (5 AM).

Unsupported accessories - Using police accessories or any other unsupported items (Special Cargo DLC trailers for ETS 2 and ATS).

Local Mods - Using local-only items such as sound and model accessories that use the /home directory (this does not include addon hookups).

Too many trailers - Using a modified trailer combination with more than 3 parts for ETS2 or 5 parts for ATS will cause the server to kick you, regardless of location on the map.

Negative cargo mass - Using a trailer with a mass lower than 0.

Mixing vehicle items - Using car parts on a truck, truck parts on a trailer or car parts on a trailer, and vice versa for each case.

Why then would it require months of scripting to add some cargo file names into the auto-kick script?

 

As for map expansions, TMP Development have tackled all map expansions with frightening efficiency in the past, including bridging the metaphorical river of identifying players with DLC to those without. This simply doesn't cause the same headaches that FMOD causes.

 

This is a non-concern, and it amounts only to certain people bringing it up to cause drama. Behave. Please.

You might want to re word that as it sounds like your saying there are 200 of each position when you actually mean there are 200 staff members altogether. There are 2 devs with the know how to work on the update currently working on it but one is full time employed & working on an upcoming AAA title & i think the other works in the NHS or health services somewhere

1.37 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE is well-intentioned by you, but here too there is no progress.

People. I have patience, but please don't be angry with me. People jump off and I would like to prevent our boys from jumping off too.

Hello . We are very pleased that you have come so close to the release of the new version.

So we can really enjoy the graphics and sound.

But we still wanted to really enjoy the speed outside the cities, on the autobahns and intercity roads.

So to speak, feel the reality of the simulator.

Those restrictions that you have been set at the moment.

For the sake of someone who likes to break the rules or go to a meeting.

They do not work, because violators will still violate the rules.

And so the bulk of the game participants suffer, for the sake of a few violators.

And the whole meaning of full-fledged simulation is lost.

really wanted you to hear and remove the restriction.

I agree with you.
but truckersmp is determined and will not remove that limitation.
the debate has been going on for 1 year, they will simply tell you to go to the arcade server or play the "need for speed" game ...

To avoid accidents at high speed on the road.

Everyone morning about the speed limit ruining the simulator.. they've already limited the speed way beyond what an actual UK/EU truck can do in real life anyway. Realistically they're restricted to 56.

 

Thats why they created the arcade server to begin with. Because everyone moans about speed restrictions and crashes, so they removed both for the sake of everyone's happiness and people still moan. They aren't going to remove the speed limit on the sim server no matter how much you protest it.

I wrote as a comparison that when you open the source, there are more developers working and so the build would come out faster. A larger team produces more. I meant in that sense. The MWL4 does practically everything on its own, he is the guy who knows the prism3d engine in depth as nobody knows. he must know even more than SCS itself, but fortunately he has life outside the project and I believe he has several commitments. My idea was as a way for several people to contribute and for him to have less work overload. I imagine that the TruckersMP source is bigger than the game itself, the reverse engineering is extremely complex.

I get all that, but you can't ignore the potential splinter groups that come from Open Source, as I've outlined. When you do this kind of thing to speed up development you compromise it. Why take that risk for the sake of getting releases maybe 1 or 2 weeks earlier? There's no tangible benefit to it.
