Nomad.
Just want to point out that this isn't an attack on anyone this is just for conversational purposes. When you are driving on TMP at night with your high beams on and see another driver coming towards you do you turn your high beams off until the driver has passed or keep them on? For me personally l would turn them off to simulate real life driving and for good etiquette so that l am not blinding the passing driver.
ppabli
I personally do the same. I try to simulate as much as possible as it would be in reality, respecting traffic regulations. But well, it is true that sometimes I forget but I don't do it on purpose .
Truckers / 3D
I agree with you on this idea, because I drive in the reality is the same, if the opposite driver does not turn on the high light, I will respect him very much! Not the other way around! Truckers_3D
Smiddy1050
I try to turn them off when i remember but most of the times i just use low beam since i'm normally driving with friends
Ivonole
I definitely turn them off. I hate when somebody is coming from the opposite way and his high beams are on.
Kiv.
I hardly ever use high beams only if needed, yes i turn them off when drivers pass me.
Chinese good drivers
At night, the road will become very dark, which allows me to activate the high beam, but when the player passes in front of me, I will turn off the high beam
kevpho
I never use the high-beams, and if someone is staying on high-beams when passing by me I flash my lights at them (but as you'd expect, they don't know what that means and continue to blind everyone else behind me). Interstate Nomad
I always put my high beams off when oncoming traffic is approaching and when somebody overtook and is still close in front of me.
The HitMan
Its the worst when the other truck has added lights to have a moving christmas tree that blinds anyone in a 5 mile radius.
Moritaka
I always turn off my lights when another player comes in the opposite direction so that I can't charm the other player and generate a bigger accident; Also me personally annoys me when someone comes with the high lights as it's very annoying because it detracts from visibility to the route and you don't see if someone comes straight ahead or there's something on the road. Guest
i don't get blinded by the high beam lights so it does not bother me when others leave them on but i always turn mine off when passing someone or come into an area with street light poles
Arne.
Same for me here, always turning them off . It's so irritating when some people don't do this.
Davina
I tbh keep them on. Never had a complaint yet.
Polyxena
I also turn them off and when I meet a driver at night having his beam on (which sometimes kinda hurt my eyes) I try to give him headlight flashing so he maybe notice that his beam is on and he should turn it off (for realism) . KW_Driver
yep. I turn them off for traffic, with the exception of flashing an overtaking driver to let them know they are clear to move back into my travel lane.
SharpGlitter167
Turn them on growing down empty roads but turn them off when someone else is coming the other way, I find it more realistic.
Dalechall
I always turn mine off.
Matt
Sometimes I have done similar to what the OP explained. Especially with Spring Mod, the skies are darker at night so I can't really see the road ahead. I tend to turn on the high beams and if a player approaches, I'll turn to turn them off until they pass as it's just another way to simulate real life driving which I think is pretty neat. On the other hand, sometimes I don't use high beams at all though! yo
ShadowWolf2k7
when I play ETS I do use my high beams and do turn them off when I see some one approach, the ones that are annoying are the ones that use the extra lights on the light bars and forget to turn off their high beams when they have the lights on the light bar attached to the high beams. I do have the lights on my truck, but I use them as decorations instead of having them active with the high beams. I like the looks but don't need them to see when the truck has good high beams.
