Matt
At the moment, I'm using automatic shifting as my steering wheel does not support manual shifting. However, from time to time, I will use the sequential shifting mode which adds a level of control On the whole, I'd prefer to use manual, if I could, as that would be the most realistic. yo
Moritaka
Hy, the automatic or manual thing depends more on the conditions in which one is more comfortable, for example automatic use because my game settings force me to having to use that kind of transmission, now if I had another configuration, of course I would use one of the manual type. Bolts
I would use manual if you have a H-Shiftier because it is far more engaging however auto is just fine.
RossFlys
Mixture for me tbh - I like using Manual most of the time however when I am doing longhaul I loose the Stick
Stringbean
When I'm in TMP then its Automatic because I've got no time to be worrying about gear changes with so many inexperienced drivers out there. Therefore, I just want to put my foot on the gas and get the the heck out of the way. However, when I'm on my own in Single Player then it's manual gear shifting. LordBenji
Automatic is more for comfort, long hauls, frequent stop and go. But it has its cons, depending on which adaptive transmission setting you have, sometimes causing unnecessary gear changes, which makes you lose time and momentum Manual requires a bit more effort, but it's much more fun, and lets you have control of which gear you actually want. But frequent stop and go can be a pain on your feet if you use H Shifter. I personally use "Range" when I drive a 6 speed (cars), and the appropriate shifter layout for the truck I drive. The 12 speed Scania uses a different shifting layout than a Daf for example. It also implies using a range selector and splitter, which are on my shift stick attachment. But switching between the two layouts can sometimes make me cause to miss a gear because I try to put the lever in the wrong position. As you can see, the 1st gear and Reverse gear are not in the same position. Understanding how splitter and range work, is like visualizing a 2 story house, with rooms, and each room have a small division. It can be complex at first, so it's always recommended to get used to either splitter or range first, then moving on to range splitter.

Chev
I love both actually, but I’ll always enjoy automatic over manual. Automatic has always been a personal preference of mine in-game and irl. Between simple or realistic automatic, I rather use realistic automatic. Have a question? Feel free to message me. Dogey
I prefer Automatic because -I don't have experience with Manual ShiftIng -I don't want to shift with keyboard (sadly no steering wheel and no Shifting set) Kind regards, Dogey Greetings Dogey
JoxyS
For a more simulative game I recommend the manual gearbox if you have one, otherwise use the sequential if you have the paddles behind the steering wheel or use the automatic if you use the keyboard. Chrizzle
For normal assignments or Convoys I drive automatic. But in heavy transports I switch manual because in heavy transports switch the automatic to fast. Have a nice day. Chrizzle
