ATS free weekend, can play TruckersMP?

Hello.

 

so today free weekend started for ATS and i wanted to play it on Multiplayer ( even if i dont know any thing about american driving style etc but well there is always free roam server so i wouldn't do much harm right? ) but when i launched the ATS it said to go to truckersmp, i pressed checked game but supported games didnt active ATS, do i need to buy the game for it to work or not?

Hello MorderczkazPolski12! For starters advise buy game and play in it 2 hours least, then test its steam-account on site truckersmp.com, then continue to register an account TruckersMP.

I think the free game is different standalone version, maybe it's update version don't even match full game's version, similar to demo version, which you can download and try anytime.

This free version also only contains base game's content (according to SCS blog post), no DLC content is included.

Unfortunately, if you want to play on Multiplayer you need to own original game and connect it with TruckersMP website in settings "Linked Games / DLC".

I think I can help you out here, I think If I’m right in saying, TMP isn’t going to be supported by a game which isn’t detected in your directory as purchased as MABYE a way of preventing cracked or pirated copies. It may only work on its own software and not with TMP unless purchased. Does this help?

I’m pretty sure you will have to own the game before you can start playing on the servers.

 

I own ATS outright so I cannot test for you to see if you can actually use the servers with a free weekend version of ATS but I’m sure developers have foreseen this predicament and put steps in place where you’d need to own the game. 
 

ATS is currently on sale for less than £4 as I’m sure all of the dlc for it (not checked and I’m assuming due to the base game being on sale) so there’s no better opportunity to grab it pretty cheap.
