Some players tell me that i'm lagging and that my double trailer kicks left and right like here

But on my screen, almost all the other players are moving smoothly.

So the question is...

 

How can a player know who is lagging? He? Or the one who sees his truck lagging? Or the server?

Is there a method to detect on which side the issue has a place?

And what should the player do if the other players tell him that his trailer acts the way like in the video?

Hello @Myau91,

The reason you may be lagging is because of where you are.

 

In the video you look like your in C-D road which without the correct pc and wifi may cause a lot of lag.

 

People can know who is lagging by seeing it on there screen. Also, press tab and look at the ping next to your name.

 

Are you through ethernet or wireless wifi? As usually wifi would be the issue.

Hello. People told me it even on empty roads, where there were only me and a few players.

That's not my video. Unfortunately i can't record my trailer doing it, because everything is ok on my screen but people say that my trailer does exactly the same.

My PC is: GTX1060, i7 4771, 12gb ram, SSD 1TB.

Internet: 100mbit/s, ethernet

For more then a month of playing here, i didn't have any problems but since several days ago, my trailer started to hit players.

The only what i changed (i just realized it) was that i bought a MAN truck with 4 axles but kept carrying the same 3+3 trailer. And on this truck, i started to be told that i lag.

This all makes me so confused about who or what is the reason of this.

I'm not used to have my own lags in games, i almost don't have freezes (the only place i can remember is the port to Trelleburg from Rostock where sometimes i get a freeze for 1 second. And everything was ok but all of a sudden this started. I can't explain to myself why.

Yes i will try to use my previous truck to check if something's gonna change, but even if so, I wanna know who or what is guilty of that and how to detect it.

Maybe i can ping the server from CMD.exe to check if i have packet loss? But i don't know its IP-address to do that.

Hello,

Have you reinstalled euro truck simulator? 

 

If not, reinstall and if that doesn't work try this. Go to Steam > Right click Euro Truck Simulator 2 > Proprieties > Local Files > Verify integrity game files, as that may fix something.

 

Try changing truck as well, if none of this works it may be down to the profile, as I've had something like that in the past.

Reinstalled and checked. It said All files successfully validated. Didn't help.

My trailer kept hitting people. It hit 1 player and then one russian player told me that it's lagging...

Then i changed my truck to MAN TGX 4x2 and kept hauling the same trailer, but lags stopped. I asked many players if i was lagging but they didn't notice any lag.

It looks like a bug of the Truckers MP mod... Maybe their specialist will see this topic and help...

Because i can't use 4 axle chassis in current circumstances < >

You can test with a new profile, sometimes a loaded profile may be the cause of the problem.

However, try to see with your internet service provider, this seems to be sudden ping jumps. ?

Good afternoon,

 

after carefully taking a look at the video above, I noticed, that before the trailer kicks "left and right" everytime, the truck does come to a short stop. This can only be caused by either client-sided lags, or by a poor connection to the server. I don't know, but are you sometimes downloading stuff in the background? Even when you have a 100 Mbit/s connection, these things can still slow you down pretty fast. The problem is also, that it could be caused by the server itself, theoretically, and not by you. It would be interesting to have the TAB menu open while this happens, as this let's us clearly see if the connection (latency) is the main cause.

I'm not sure i understand what "a loaded profile" means. That i downloaded it from somewhere?

Or that it's stored somewhere in steam? Yes, my profile, as i understand, is stored somewhere in steam, not in my PC.

But i've never downloaded someone's profiles, i created my profile to play only here (though i had to reach 3lvl in singleplayer to buy my own truck) and it's only me who played on this account.

What can i tell my internet provider? That everything is ok on my screen but players in only one game, when i use 4 axle chassis, complain that my trailer lags and hit them? < >

If i had the server IP, i would start a test to check the connection for packet loss... But where to find it?....

No, while playing in multiplayer, but of course my OS and other software installed on my PC can download updates.

Yes, but the problems started since i bought the truck with 4 axle chassis. For more than a month of playing here, i remember only 2 cases when players told me that i was lagging, but nothing about kicking trailers. Till i got the truck... Now i left it in my garage until i'm able to drive it without causing problems for other drivers.

And again, since i stopped using that truck, i've not received any single complaint from players so far...

Yes, the circumstances does make me think that it's a server or mod issue. I even have a suspect but it has to be tested.

My sister had been using a 4x2 truck for a long time (97000+ km) and she had lagged sometimes but her trailer had never kicked.

 

Yesterday she bought a truck with a liftable middle axle (just to have a long wheelbase) so she lifted it and drove only this way.

And you know what? I noticed her trailer kicked several times. I drove my 4-axle truck with lifted axle too for the same reason, because i like driving vehicles

with only long wheelbases, i don't really need the second turning axle. And there is a bug that the other players hear an endless noise (air going out) that the owner doesn't hear, when an axle of his truck is lifted. Maybe this bug is linked with the described behavior of double trailers? Yes, it must be tested.

I will try to use my 4-axle truck without lifting the axle to check.

I checked my ping when i got those complaints. My TAB menu said that my ping was ok (70-80ms), BUT the other players saw different results for some reason.

I was told that my ping was 300ms when i saw 75~ in the TAB menu. I even kept it open for a long time but my ping didn't even change like it stopped updating.

 

I'm sorry for late responses. I've not felt well recently to answer.

Thank you! I hope the server won't ban me for pinging it? I'm gonna ping -t it while playing to check what ping i have when people see me lagging.

Also i'll test the chassis with help of my sister recording my trailer. First with not lifted axle and then with lifted. She will register every kick. Then we will compare the results.

So, if the server won't ban me, i will have additional results from CMD that could explain the influence of latency if it has a place here.

The results of the experiment are...

 

With lifted axle, Rotterdam -> Malmo, 27-ton cargo, 10 lags, 0 trailer kicks

With not lifted axle, Malmo -> Rotterdam, 20-ton cargo, 2 lags, 0 trailer kicks

With lifted axle, Rotterdam -> Duisburg, 20-ton cargo, 16 lags, 2 trailer kicks

With not lifted axle, Duisburg -> Rotterdam, 20-ton cargo, 1 lag, 1 trailer kick

 

Also, there is an experiment in a chemical factory.

When i say LIFTED, i'm gonna drive with lifted axle

When i say NOT LIFTED, i'm gonna drive with not lifted axle

 

I think you can notice the difference and how badly my truck is lagging when the axle is lifted.

Since it's now known that it was a bug and since TFM DJ ccowie told me that this bug's been reported by him, 

and we now know that we shouldn't use liftable axles of trucks to avoid inevitable lags cuz of that,
