dragonslayingmaster1000
I sometimes do if it's a short message or a slightly longer message on a straighter section of road although I don't have a setup that allows me to reliably do long messages safely. I use the mouse steering so I can at least control my steering while I type with 1 hand but not the throttle or brake.
tfmpillow
Texting and driving is something I've done since my early days at TruckersMP. Though, the result of it is shocking, as it's quite realistic as to what happens when you're texting and driving IRL. Even though this is only a game, I still wouldn't recommend doing it, as you might get too used to it and do it IRL too. tfmpillow | Retired Team Member Rules | Recruitment | Support | Feedback | Meet the Team | Guides | Suggestions
MightyPower
Cheers lad, as you've heard in real life is bad to text and drive, so basically here it's the same, don't text and drive, you will have a lot of crashes because of it, best regards -Enzo
Interstate Nomad
I do not text and drive, simply because it is not safe.
FernandoCR [ESP]
Only times I don't stop to send a text is when I see a speeder crash, I'll risk opening the chat and sending a LOL. Other than that, I will stop or won't send anything.

Callum.
I tend to not text whilst driving in-game, only ever if I am on a multi lane carriageway where I am doing less than the speed limit, but even then, I usually just pull over.
Millennium1001
What do you mean with text and drive? Ingame texting or using my real life phone? In the first case I dont think so, in the second case yes Why
James
Occasionally if the road ahead is empty, and it is a straight road, just so i don't end up causing a scene if any trucks are coming behind me. Normally i check my phone and pull over, just to be on the safe side!

Cloofter
Depends on the situation and type of road. I usually slow down a bit if I was getting an ID but if it was just for a casual talk I'd wait until its a straight road at least. Since May 2015. Arthur Dion
I ask myself why one would text while driving? It's not safe and you can cause damage to somebody else's car and ruin the nice experience this somebody is having. Instead, use voice when possible. Melodies
I've being doing this for quite some time now and yeah it's almost like in real life, but i only crashed twice Sometimes you just look at your screen and you're driving on the left ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[ATL]Andrey rus
I write only when I need to urgently answer and only on a straight road. And I do not understand those people who looked at the phone, and after the accident they blame everyone, but not themselves.

049David [GER]
While typing in chat is pretty doable when you have a steering wheel, responding to a Steam message or even looking at your real life mobile phone always results in me hitting the crash barrier. Pretty scary if you think about what could happen when you are texting in a real car/truck.

Guest
If I have to send any kind of message whether it's on my phone, Steam or the game itself, I pull over first. It's actually fairly realistic in how dangerous it can be to do either of those while driving in the game. I did it once when I first started playing and nearly ended up hitting the central barrier on a motorway, so I decided not again

[WT] Bingo [CH]
As I am using a steering wheel, I got no problems with typing messages in the chat while driving. I am always in full control of my truck. But I do it only when it is necessary and when no players are next to me.
UgurS
It is hard for me so I don't text while driving. I just text if there is red light or traffic.
