My game randomly alt-tabbing.

Hello, can you try the below solution and let me know if it works.

1)Go to Steam and right click the Euro Truck Simulator 2 from the Library, then select Properties.

2)On the General tab, "Use Desktop Game Theatre while SteamVR is active" do not click checkbox.

3)Open TruckersMP in administrator mode, then login in ETS2:MP and wait for 5 minutes.

You should disable any programs that may take the focus away from your game. There is a tool (might be outdated though) that you can give it a try which is windows focus logger.

Perhaps it might be caused by your anti virus? You should check the options on it and adjust it if necessary.

Another option if you're willing to is to run the game in windowed mode and check if it happens too.

Also never forget to update your graphics card drivers.

Do you have this issue only in MP or in SP, too?  

 

Did it work before?

Do you have this issue in other games, too? 

 

Please 

Follow my steps;


1-) Go to Steam Library
2-) Right click Euro Truck Simulator 2
3-) Properties
4-) Local Files
5-) Verify integrity of game files
6-) Wait for the process to complete then Re-Attempt to launch ETS2
+ Ensure you launch ETS2 in DirectX mode via SinglePlayer, then launch Multiplayer

 

Perhaps it can be happening by a virus or windows updates. But as I know, some people gets it because of some update programs that start working at the start.

So disabling them will work. Check if you have some office onenote or java or any update program working. 

 

Also you can  keep this program open and see which software do that alt-tabbing:  http://www.happydroid.com/focus -- Then Open and play until you get auto alt-tabbed, then you see which did it.

I don't have installed an antivirus program on my PC.
I tried Windows Focus Logger :

Steps for un-install 

  1. At the first you saved your account from ETS 2 , if you do not want create a new one , after installation. ---- / Go to Documents - Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Profiles -  and folders , that are in this folder you can save on your desktop.
  2. Go to Control Panels
  3. Programs
  4. Programs and fuctions --- here : https://imgur.com/a/9mGBGwj
  5. Then you un-install ets 2 from control panels -- https://imgur.com/a/ePxB9Uu
  6. After uninstall you go to Documents - and the folder Euro Truck Simulator 2 please remove.
  7. Also go to  - Local Disk - Program Files (x86) - Steam - Steamapps - common - Euro Truck Simulator 2 delete.
  8. Then you are ready for new and clear  installation ETS 2 :) 
  9. You can start installation over steam.
