Hot topic #12: Virtual companies

Prime

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

Since the beginning of the mod people have been teaming up drive together and eventually from virtual companies to operate within the game.

Are you part of such a company? What do you look for when considering to join such a company? Or do you prefer to freelance your way through the game?

Discuss it all in this topic!

I'm in a VTC, almost always have been. Being bilingual, and experiencing both English and Polish VTCs, I can comfortably say that there are very many different calibre of VTCs. For example, English VTCs are very lax and don't have much communication. Polish VTCs tend to be a lot more strict, however also have a lot more communication. I feel like VTCs help me stay motivated to play the game tbh

^ Tends to be the same with most non-English VTCs having managed partnerships with other VTCs. (Case in point: Look at some of the Romanian VTCs).

Kind of sad, but the population of the game of which is primarily English speaking is just non-existent as to what it used to be.

When I joined this community I didn't know anything about VTCs but then when I read some information like what is VTC I was pretty interested in what's going on there, so I decided to look for a best one for me and I found Atlas Logistics, I was there for 1 year I guess but then everything became pretty boring for me and I decided to leave them and look for that VTC, which really suits me and I feel comfortable there, I joined Prime Logistics before It was officially opened but due to lack of time and losing any interest I left it and after few months started looking for a VTC again and then I found Red Line Cargo, since I had a few friends there there I thought that I need to try, everything was pretty good but I got bored again just like after a few months and I understood that I'm getting bored pretty fast when I don't have any aim or something similar, so I decided to open my own VTC and try something new for me, so I hope I won't lose interest in owning a VTC and I'll try to do my best to make it respected and known in this community.

Usually i am driving alone and listening to music and that is enough for me. But i also love being in a VTC doing convoys and having fun with other members.

I personally prefer more driving in a convoy than alone, but sometimes i love to drive above speed limits of the convoy so i go alone.

Currently, i am in one pretty good professional VTC with lovely people and great staff members. I would never miss an convoy with them :D

I prefer more professional VTC-s than for fun only, because i like to roleplay and that is what makes me enjoy playing ETS2.

When i am searching for VTC to join, i want to see professionalism, work, effort, kindness, and motivation to improve. These things make me join the VTC ;)

I am apart of a VTC, but it’s my own that I’ve had since the beginning of ATS. I greatly enjoy the ability of having a group of people to talk with verses being by yourself. Playing multiplayer and having a group are the reasons why I have nearly 1500 hours on ATS and 300 on ETS2 (I do play singleplayer). Also, being in groups (VTC’s) makes the games more enjoyable to me and plus it makes for interesting conversations.

I personally prefer laid back VTC’s with some professionalism to them.

Have a question? Feel free to message me.

Iv ran 2 VTC's/ Community Home of the Jaffas and Sharp Logistics.
It is  good fun setting one up and managing it, But after time it gets boring as its the same old same new stuff.
However i find these days people dont really want to join vtc's as they are all the same .

When VTC’s first appeared they all had very little software but had their own feel to them, then some became more unique by creating manual and auto loggers and more detailed websites. Now most of the VTC’s still have their own feel to them but have all the same or very similar software to all of the other ones. It is nice to have an identity within a VTC and to make friends, but it is also nice to be proud of a company name. I think the only problem with VTC’s is that they have branched out into more gaming communities and that had taken away some of the hard core trucking aspect from them.

Im a mature driver (47yrs old) with a family. Im generally a solo player with no friends. I was looking for a VTC to join where I could be part of something but not have to ‘socialise’ if I didn’t want to. I wanted driver logs etc and feel like there was a purpose to be spending 6hrs on a Saturday driving a virtual truck.

It needed to have other mature drivers, even if it was a good mix of ages. There was a few that advertise and I made the mistake of joining one where I was going to be tested by a schoolboy on whether I could drive or not (having had a RL car license of 30years). The discord was full of teenage banter and it simply wasn’t the one for me.

So I just went lone wolf for a long time and found myself hanging in popular areas so I could feel like I was in a MP game like a lost puppy.

I then decided to join a VTC again and looked on the forum. Theres one that appears as the  Stobart of VTC’s (I know there is a Stobart VTC). That VTC was Viva. They are everywhere and most people know the colours. I applied late last week and was accepted within 10 mins. Since driving around this weekend ive seen loads of other Viva drivers who all want to chat, pair up and convoy. Its like you’ve just found a team mate even if you’ve never spoke before. Ive not joined the discord chat yet and I haven’t  been on a full convoy but im still enjoying it. Ive had loads more ‘honks’ from other drivers on the road than I did when solo and people do seem to drive more sensibly around you, I assume as they know you will be a courteous and professional driver. It’s a win win for me.

I was in Viva at some time, totally loved it! However, I had to leave for some things being said to me. But Viva was the first VTC I was in. Made a lots of friends :)
After leaving Viva, I joined a few VTCs from my country but I no longer had that feeling I used to have in Viva.
Then I decided to start my own VTC, came up with the name "Forza" which is the Italian word for Force.

Now doing pretty well with over 148 drivers :) What matters the most is, I've got a different kind of family in the TMP community, I name it my Forza Trucking Co. :D

I learned alot, first of all, brotherhood. It's the important thing that this VTCs brought to me as an advantage. Second, having some friendships and learned how to drive a truck properly. Some culture maybe by having some long conversations with different people from different countries. Third one, behaving, well I am not a member of any trucking company IRL but I tried it in VTCs and learned how they live ( some examples not all ). Fourth and the last one, rules. Yes rules and how they should be.

Thanks FTC for making me a better person :)

I have been in lots of VTCs through all the years I'm here, mainly or even only Polish ones, and I have noticed that somehow can keep their reputation high but the count of players who want to run their own VTC "because it's cool" is increasing. I have been an owner of a VTC for about a year, tried to relaunch it last year and I have noticed that small VTCs have a hard challenge if they want to grow. What I want to say is, that too many people think that running a VTC is easy, so many little VTCs are being opened however they are being closed after a month or so because the guys running it have lost their motivation. Bascially one should always think if it's worth to start a new one instead of joining another. The count of VTCs available is just big enough, so everyone is able to find a suitable one.

I have been in the community for about 4 years now I was one vtc which wasn't the best but it was interesting to see how they work but then I started one with a friend and for 3 years been managing one with 3 friends who I consider brothers it isn't boring because you meet new people and get to interact with people across the globe some people can be hateful and trollers but I wouldn't change not being in a vtc its such a amazing feeling we are very chilled in our vtc taking things way too serious you just lose the support of your team its great to be in a community / vtc of your own making !:D
