My profile is gone

iDevious

Question

So I deleted the winter mod last week because Christmas is over and I don't want to slip all the time and today I decided to play again but my profile (which has over 80 hours on it) is suddenly gone and I was forced to create a new profile. So basically, I'm forced to redo everything I did in those 80 hours or what? Because that is absolute nonsense!

If there is no profiles in the 'profiles' folder, then there should be .bak folders in the ETS 2 folder. look for the one that has the latest ETS 2 version and simple copy and paste the folder to 'profiles'.

Hello dear @Kylodos,

please check your Ets2 profiles folder (Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\profiles). If you do not have deleted any of this profiles, your profile can not be deleted.

Did you have uninstalled your whole game via steam?

I checked and there are no profiles in there (I didn't delete anything in there)... I'll try to recover my profile via World of Trucks and if that doesn't work, I'll be very disappointed. 80 hours spend on a profile for nothing -_-

Hi @Kylodos

Try the following steps. may help you to solve your problem.

Go to My Documents / Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder. A copy of the profiles is created when updating the game, profiles (1.31.1.4s). as. you may have saved a large share of the profile.

Greetings.

If nothing shows up in your document profile folder,  try to find them here instead (starting from your Steam folder): "\Steam\userdata\[Steam client number]\227300\remote\profiles". This should only work if you have enabled Steam's cloud service via profile options, but maybe it was somehow activated automatically or something similiar. It's a good place to check, nonetheless. If they aren't there,, try exiting Steam in a safe manner (right-click the Steam icon in the bottom-right of the screen and clicking "Exit", wait a few minutes and log back in. See if your profiles are present in either the document or Steam's profile folders. I hope this helps!

Kind regards.

Dear @Kylodos,

We are sorry to hear that you have lost your profile(s). But as there isn't anything you can do other than being more careful in the future (enable the Steam's cloud saving, for example), is there still something you need or can this topic be locked and moved to the Solved section? Please, let us know.
I hope that you are having a great day so far - happy trucking!
