I was using hazard lights only and to be honest, at daytime, it is barely visible (especially for those guys who only care to drive at the maximum allowed speed).

It is advisable to open daytime, as like Airplanes if the engines are on beacon lights must on. As signal to the Ground Crew and Other Airplanes that the aircraft's engines are on.

I added on the trcuk but I'm using when I need them like emergency parking side of the road or driving with heavy cargo pack trailer thats all.

I can only agree with the "Don't use beacons when you aren't loaded", but me personally, I like to have it just in case for example crash happens right in front of me - hazards may not be as visible and beacons attracts more attention

Yeah I think too many people at the moment use beacons for not needed reasons, for example sticking their beacons on when towing an average size boxed trailer, and it makes people less aware and more conscious of them normally being on and takes the emergency/warning traffic side of it, making it just part of daily life.

First and foremost, you must know what is beacon lights for vehicles. It is used to attract the attention of the people if there is an emergency, usually only authorized vehicles used beacon lights such as Fire truck, Police mobile, Ambulance, Escort cars, Tow truck. 

 

The use of it;

 

Open your beacons (referring to the game) when you have a trailer, heavy haul cargo, trailer with beacons. This means that you are loaded. Even it is Day you must turn it on while travelling and loaded, it is not just for night. (For Trucks)

 

Open your beacon when you are loaded with Caravan, Escorting convoys. (For Cars)

 

P.S If you are not loaded with cargos, please do not turn it on if not necessary. It makes the game lag specially for those who have slow PC. And/Or on a heavg congested roads.

I agree with this completely, there have been countless times where i'm driving into a heavily populated area and everyone has their beacons on... quite the pain and gives me a headache!

Simply when you are load turn it on but when you are in a city or a road with 25 drivers or more you must turn it off for ping and lag problems to others users
