NuelGamingPH
Hello there guys I just want to share this to you and I am not sure if this has already discussed. Since I was not aware of beacons before until I find out what is use of this. Beacon Lights; First and foremost, you must know what is beacon lights for vehicles. It is used to attract the attention of the people if there is an emergency, usually only authorized vehicles used beacon lights such as Fire truck, Police mobile, Ambulance, Escort cars, Tow truck. The use of it; Open your beacons (referring to the game) when you have a trailer, heavy haul cargo, trailer with beacons. This means that you are loaded. Even it is Day you must turn it on while travelling and loaded, it is not just for night. (For Trucks) Open your beacon when you are loaded with Caravan, Escorting convoys. (For Cars) P.S If you are not loaded with cargos, please do not turn it on if not necessary. It makes the game lag specially for those who have slow PC. And/Or on a heavg congested roads. Thanks! Regards, Nuel
Leon Baker
Thanks for making this post, hope this will be helpful for players and they'll understand how to use beacons properly instead of turning it on without any reason.
NickThe0ne
I just want to chip in and say in Norway Beacons mean that you should pay attention to the vehicle and act accordingly to the situation. Keep distance, slow down, give extra space, yield and so on. The lights in general mark a possible dangerous situation and thay you should be extra careful around said vehicle. In Norwegian they are called "varsellys" directly translated it becomes "warning lights". They should only be used when necessary. Guest
It depends entirely on situations, permits, and the type/weight of cargo you are hauling. I know in the USA, in alot of states, you can have Orange beacon lights on any vehicle, and you can use them regardless of what situation you have. Of course, you don't see them on just any vehicle because they can cost quite a bit to buy and install, for uses which most people don't have a reason to pay for them. Ingame, I use the beacons whenever I have dangerous cargo, cargo that is oversized, cargo that is wider and/or longer than the trailer, or if my vehicle is very dark painted and not entirely visible (especially if I am travelling faster than 100 km/h). Beacons should be used for attracting the attention of other people, so that they know they should be careful around you, or used to alert them of your presence if it isn't easily noticed (dark vehicles/cargo wider or longer than the trailer where marker lights are) If you don't have a trailer, if you are not a pilot for a group or single truck, and you do not present any potential need for warning, then beacons should not be used. Also, for anyone that would consider themself a slow moving vehicle (rare in TMP, but I do see some people are 50 km/h or 60 km/h drivers), I would seriously recommend that they use beacon lights to warn other drivers of their presence. MrSirViking
I never use beacons. I just find them annoying so i never put them on my truck. And i do find it a bit annoying when people just drive around with beacons on for no reason.
BlizzardCrow
I try to avoid the lights whenever possible because it's so much overused. So much trucka are using them, so there is no warning function if you have heavy or dangerous freight... A friend of mine stopped playing the Multiplayer because the beacons of too much player on the same place is triggering his epilepsy.
63e Zen
Good and useful thread, thanks for the info! I prefer to use beacons in hazardous situations, side of the road, or entering and parking trailer. The less beacons that are on, the better lol
Trucking Gekco
Sure it's helpful, but those who misuse their beacons won't care. I only have them on when I have an oversized load (from the Heavy Cargo DLCs), otherwise you don't need them / shouldn't have them on. PS: When your in an area with lots of players, shut them off. Help those with potato's get better FPS, also please don't cover your roof in beacons. You just need 2, not 12.
[E-T CEO] Flying Cat
It's a good post, but sadly those people won't read it i think. They often they just make shit on the world and think it's funny to shit on physics and realism. They just wanna race and that are the wrong games for doing this, ETS2 & ATS. Anyway, thank you! dragonslayingmaster1000
I only use it when I'm carrying heavy cargo and I accelerate slowly. I hate people who use them for no reason and I really wish there was an option to turn them off.

Trucking Gekco
^ how much beacons do you have on your truck and where are they located? You could be getting kicked for a rule violation or you have them on in a highly populated area.

Same here, I don't have beacons installed at all but I'm still able to use integrated trailer beacon, cargo and trailers that are intended to be driven with beacons enabled do have installed beacons on the trailer's rear side. Beacons are annoying especially when they are used for no reason, people haul flowers with standard trailer and flash beacons, solo trucks without trailers flash beacons, cars flash beacons, cars with attached caravans flash beacons and many more examples of pointless use of beacons that are only creating eyes strain and lag. Luckily from the next patch we will be able to disable all beacons via console command g_disable_beacons, hopefully this feature will bi available in the MP as well. https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=1022868#p1022868
dragonslayingmaster1000
@MrG721 I imagine it's only going to work for those few AI trailers that use their beacons. I wish they could have an option to disable beacons in the multiplayer settings.
Jason M
Well beacon lights can be used for both the pilot car or the semi trucks. But are only for oversize loads or heavy loads that's the only time you use them and if their is over 25 people don't use them i think this is a rule

Guest
I thought the only usage was: With loads at night. (which before rules update, I barely use beacons) So it can be used to attract attention when there is danger ahead. I was using hazard lights only and to be honest, at daytime, it is barely visible (especially for those guys who only care to drive at the maximum allowed speed). And now I have a second option. Thanks for sharing.
