TBH, I use CCleaner to do all that, it's a lot simpler and it can be programmed to run each X hours/days, so it does the cleaning automatically and it has an active monitoring feature which will launch the cleaning as soon as it detects a certain configurable amount of junk (at least with the paid version, not sure about the free one). But the improvement is unnoticeable, I use it mostly to free space from my system SSD. The only way I found to make a PC go way better is to format and install system from scratch. Of course, there are "little tricks", like using SSD instead of mechanical HDD, upgrade memories to bigger or faster ones... Not so simple and a lot more expensive. Removing junk files is just a temporary fix, someone can notice a slight improvement, but a few days later it will all be the same as before. Fortunately, I've never seen my PC struggling or freezing, other than with some bugged software (and this has a quick and simple fix too: Remove the bugged software unless you don't have an alternative).
