Random events on multiplayer

Recommended Posts

I think that random events should be disabled by default in MP because they work only on client side. Here is vid that happened to me where driver behind thought that maybe I tryed to block him and got mad.

Imagine some extreme random events where you are driving in opposing lane. I think that I have even had event of driving in the opposing side of tunnel. Just not for MP, I had to turn it off.

Greetings @RussaX

Below i will take up things regarding your points that are from my opinion and to my knowledge.
I understand your point and there is a recommendation in place for everyone to have them turned of and there has also been stated that if a person have these events on hat dosen't give them the right to cut someone of or ram someone.

And now to what you where saying to start with you can report that person for ramming. But also a reminder and suggestion indicate abit earlier and check your mirror and distance to the one behind befor changing lanes due to change of desync but otherwise i don't see a problem.
The reason to why they are client side only is that Truckersmp dosen't sync them and can't untill they can sync AI
As to my knowledge there are no random events that forces you into oncoming lane the one that is closest to similar is afew that happens on singel lane country roads and forces you close to the middle of the road but there should not be necessary to go in the wrong lane.
The road works with driving in opposit tunnels are their in the main game as standard and not a random road event and so everyone can see it.
I understand what you say and i am with you sort of that it could be good if mp turns it of automatically but also it is everyones responsibility of what they do on mp and their choice if they have it on.

You could make a suggestion about this here. https://forum.truckersmp.com/index.php?/forum/285-suggestions/

I am interessted in what everyone think regarding this.

you could always use the CB to tell other drivers that you have a random event, such as road construction, and tell them which lane you are moving to. since you are recording, you will have proof that you a. informed other drivers that you have the random event b. that you will be moving lanes.

^admins dont care. got banned for road work, wasnt recording and was told to prove it. i couldnt so got banned for "intentional" ramming. i appealed and got the week ban shorten to 4 days :/

@Brandon8506

when I said "since you are recording" that was at the OP.

if you were recording when it happened, and you used the CB to a. tell people you have a random event a head, and  b.to which lane you will be moving,. the fault would be theirs for the accident, due to you telling them a head of time that you are switching lanes. also having your turn indictors on a head of time helps.

You do not have the chance to have a random event on the MP and not to be on the counter! I had a case when I turned counter and it was to ban it because of it! After I took them out, I would not go anymore.

I hope that having random events being handled serverside, rather than clientside, is on the list for an update some time in the future. Watching other drivers ghost through roadworks isn't a deal-breaker, but it is kind of lame. I know, I know, I can turn them off, but it would be nice to have SP features properly implemented in MP.

Seeing this video is obviously your fault, I strongly advise you to disable random events to avoid problems.;)

Changing lanes without notice was his fault, but clearly the other driver drove into his lane after he had already cleared the obstacle.
