system cannot find the path specified

truckintea73

Question

When clicking on the "install truckersmp.exe file I get the error "system cannot find the path specified"  I searched everywhere to solve this problem. I've tried going in the system registry. I tried right mouse clicking on the .exe file and set to read only, and run as admin etc. and nothing.  I can't seem to get it going for some reason. The one thing I didn't do is update windows. I have windows 7 btw. I'll try that but if anyone can think of anything else I can try, please let me know. After updating windows I'm pretty much out of ideas.

Hey dear @truckintea73

Try the following.

Open the Registry Editor(press+ R, type regedit and hit Enter) .

Navigate to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\AutoRunand clear the values.

Also check HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\AutoRun

Also you can check this webside about your problem https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/the-system-cannot-find-the-path-specified/b9a9aa70-d950-4157-82fb-5a0903dc8099

Good luck ;)

hello

Please read and try this solution first :

1- To run the Windows scan and repair tool: Type "cmd" in the Start Search box.
2- Click "Request Command" in the results.
3- Enter the "sfc / scannow" command in the black window that opens and press the ENTER key.
4- Your system will be scanned for an estimated 20 minutes, if any problems are found and will be automatically corrected.
5- Restart the computer after scanning or editing.

Best Regards

Soul Knight:)

@ Night King

Thanks for your answer. Please refer to the screenshot in this post. When I open reg edit and I go to the path you suggested it says default and value is not set. So how would I set the value if there's supposed to be one? This happen on both paths you suggested BTW.

Kind regards
