Hello :)

You should look at the following link about your problem. http://troubleshooter.xyz/wiki/fix-error-code-0x80070002-the-system-cannot-find-the-file-specified/

Your virus scanner is blocking the application to launch. Add launcher.exe to exclusions to solve the problem.

If you're using BitDefender, ensure you have enabled exclusions for bitdefender and then add the launcher.exe to exclusions.  Please use https://www.bitdefender.com/support/how-to-add-exclusions-(exceptions)-in-bitdefender-2015-1307.html for reference.

And try to create the multiplayer directory manually, and see if that would proceed any further by actually creating the game files. If not, try to re-install the launcher by this way

  • Press the Windows Key + R (Win+R) on your keyboard
  • Enter "%programdata%" and press Enter (without the quotes)
  • Find the folder "TruckersMP" and delete that folder.
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files\ and delete the folder named "TruckersMP Launcher"
  • Go to our website and re-download and install the Launcher with admin privileges https://truckersmp.com/download/
  • Open The Launcher with admin privileges and click "Install Available Updates"

Hey there,

Assuming you still haven't found a fix for this, here's a  quick fix that should work for you. You do not need to download any software to fix this.

There are a few reasons this error could occur, a corrupt system file, or an anti-virus is blocking the installer. If you only experience this error when installing TruckersMP, it's unlikely its a corrupt system file and you shouldn't download software that claims to "fix" it.  If you have any anti-virus installed (Other than windows defender), temporarily disable it, then open "Windows Defender Security Center" and click "Virus and threat protection" then "Virus & threat protection settings". Under "Controlled folder access" toggle it off.

If that doesn't work, also disable "Check apps & files" temporarily to off while installing TruckersMP, it can be found in the security center under "App & browser control" on the left-hand side.

If those steps don't worry and no one else can offer a solution feel free to send me a PM and I'll give you some other troubleshooting steps.
