It is because of the port to UK. I am from the UK and I hate driving in the UK on ETS2 lol, I much prefer the rest of Europe so I keep away from that area. I only ever go there if the job has a high reward at the end of the journey.

Why are there so many people in Calais?  Because the people are going to Calais to drive the C-D route. When they are rammed on the C-D route then the people have to be towed.  And that's why there are so many players 

If you don't want to drive there then change the server to EU#1 or EU#3

Its also the place to go to England, and many don't want to drive in England, so they stop at Calais.

I love to drive with other, that's why you do MP. It sometimes gets boring to drive to DLC areas of France and Italy since you hardly run into anyone there. For example, you can drive through Italy and only run into two other players.

But Calais and Calais-Duisburg are incredibly crowded places. It's not because there is so many at the same time, but rather the fact that not that many acts polite and respects the traffic rules. It only needs one troll to stuck the whole traffic.

Well it's the end of the D -> C road , so it's as expected. 

 

I for one love Calais, even if it's crowded the roads are really well build (compare to Duisburg for example) and can take on a lot of traffic.
