US server for ATS Offline

so i just recently got back to the game after being gone for a few months and noticed that the ATS server for the US is down whats going on? i cant connect to the europe servers my ping is to high

US ETS2 Server was lagging badly for all players so it was shutdown. Sorry  Due to low server populations we decided to have all ATS on one server.

Unfortunately, a US server for the American Truck Simulator is not active at this time. You can only log in to the European server.

so what about us who cant connect due to a high ping rate that seems a bit harsh doesnt it

Dear @Shortpaw, believe me, our developers have had good reasons when they decided to take the US server down. The intention isn't to troll our American players, but it's just because of the horrible performance we have registered on that server. Players have had awful ping rates and as a result there was massive desync going on. This situation has made TMP pretty much unplayable on these servers, so our developers have decided to take them offline until the situation has improved. Unfortunately no one can tell for sure, whether we will be able to get the ATS US server back running again at one point or not, but in the meantime we just ask you for your patience and understanding for our situation. Because i don't think you would be satisfied if you had your US-server for ATS but everyone there would rubberband like crazy due to the bad performance of the server.
