[Special Transport] ~25 degree hill, Volvo 700 HP

OPservator

Question

Hi, my Volvo Globetrotter FH16 XL 700 HP 6x4 can't take 55 Tonnes trailer up the ~25 degree hill (100 km West from Oslo), but easly does 100 kmph on straight road.
What's it's problem? What's best truck and it's config available for 13lvl profile stricte to Special Transport / Heavy Cargoes?

Hello,

You have to win the necessary achievements, try to sleep in the game if it does not work.

Best regards.

Dear @OPservator, as already said above, it's not really the question which truck you are driving, but moreover it's the correct setup that determines whether you can master hills rather easily or if every climb will turn into a real struggle. First of all you have to choose the 12+2 gearboxes, if you go for the 6-speed one you will have a huge disadvantage at any climb. And i also highly recommend that you don't use the automatic transmission (at least not on the hills), as it usually shifts pretty early in order to drive economically, but that just kills all the momentum. If you want to make it up a hill with a rather heavy load, you have to rev your engine higher than the automatic transmission would let you do (at least in eco mode).

Please let us know if any of these answers helped you with your struggle or if you need any further assistance.
