How to behave in extreme situations

Hello everyone,

 

I'm now part of this peaceful community for a short time, and it's clearly not my intention to throw some demands, but I've got some points on my mind, which I would like to share with you guys. 

I may be wrong, so feel free to revise me.

 

Everyone knows following situation. You got a hard day @ work/university/school/s.o and you just want to relax with ETS2. Its just relaxing, to drive down the roads with other players, which stick to the rules and help you, when you got problems.

I met a bunch of really cool and smooth guys, and dont want to miss driving with other drivers.

That was the "entertaining"-site of ETS2@MP.

 

I bet you EXACTLY know how it feels, when you drive a WOT-order, and you drive for hours and hours without any damage on your load, and then BOOOOOOOOM, 10 metres before destination, some son of a goat mistakes this game with F1 2017, and destroys everything you drived for hours. No savepoint for WOT-missions, and everything is ruined

 

HOW SHOULD YOU BEHAVE / HOW CAN YOU BEHAVE ?

 

Is it that far for game-mods to comprehend, that you're mad in such situations ? I know, they're just doing their job, but how is it possible, that you get a ban for insult, and the one who rammed you on purpose, can drive around without any consequences ?

It didn't happened just one time. I'm tracking this problem for a long period now.

 

I never thaught it would happen to me, but I got banned for 3 full days, for insulting.  5 FULL hours WOT @ 90 km/h, and then got rammed. What happened to the other guy ?

"Appeal a ban" is a "wonderful" tool, if it would work. I wrote several times, but no reactions. By the way, ban got expired, and still got banned.....

Now there is a great ban-note on my profile, and I feel like a idiot.

 

This whole case was just on my mind and I think it's a problem, which many drivers get faced with.

According to the recent rule changes insulting or profanity should be dealt with by a kick before an instant ban. So I can only imagine your insult was quite bad to warrant an instant ban
Looking at the ban you have not had evidence added to your ban so I would recommend making a feedback ticket for evidence to be added as you cant appeal bans after they expire.

Without knowing the full picture (and I believe you aren’t allowed to discuss that on the forum anyway), if im sat in service area, an accident happens nearby and then the CB radio is full of people swearing etc, when I have my 7yr old daughter sat next to me, then I can see why people that shout insults also get banned.

 

The rules are quite clear, no insulting, although I know that’s hard to do when you’ve invested so much time on a trip to have it destroyed at the very end.

 

The other answer, and I hate to say it, only do important deliveries on a quiet server. If I am to pass through a busy area, with lots of trolls and GTA drivers, I pull over, and switch server until I pass through.

Rule of advice, if you love WoT contracts, do them on EU#1, at leas 80-90% less idiots on this server since there's a speed limit already and cars aren't allowed.

Somebody crashed into you. Your vehicle and/ or your cargo is heavily damaged.
Naturally, you are angry at the perpetrator. You want to swear, call him names and maybe destroy his vehicle and cargo, too.

These are understandable reactions. However, they are rule violations and you should avoid them.
The only legal way to counter such actions are to report the perpetrator, either with the in-game report system or the website report system.
The latter will need valid evidence, such as a video of the incident. 

And if you have to swear and/ or call somebody names, please feel free to do so, but with your microphone muted.

I just move on if you play a less populated server there would be less risk. But I get the fun in the more populated servers.BUT if you cant handle getting hit may be best to just go to a less populated server.

I've never got a ban for insulting others. I'm always calm and I try to understand other people. It's just a truth that not everyone takes the game as a simulation. I really understand that you got mad. I hope all the best for you in the future!

Whatever the reason is, you should stay calm in a discussion. Insult is not the solution, you can warn it instead.

I mean, I love to drive on servers with much traffic, but the other side of the medal was already mentioned.....

 

Guess to stay calm, is the only way, to get out of trouble. I mean how would you react in real life, if someone destroys your cargo ?

Wondering if the insult was so bad, to ban me, if its legit to kick for such things. Just wrote 3 or 4 words, can't remember.

 

Just know, that it was a over 2500 km delivery, and just 2 km before destination, someone destroyed the WOT-cargo with 91 % damage  . Hell yeah.

I respect the rights of persons to become naturally upset; however, customer service experience has taught me that getting angry, which happens to everyone, usually doesn't help and only makes it more complicated for a third party attempting to resolve the issue. I try to adopt the 'kill them with kindness' approach; this lets me make others realize how rude they're being to me, and all I have to do is be super-duper nice.

I've been there, many times. But I've seen lots of people being banned for their angry reactions. So, like @Joao Rodrigues mentioned, I'll call the culprit the rudest and nastiest things that come to my mind at that moment. But not over the CB radio or the chat. The only ones who could report me would be my neighbors and I guess that they don't care or they don't actually hear me swearing.

 

And as a note, there are even worse things. Right now, I've ended a 2000 Km Wot job, from Montpellier to Warszawa. I didn't remember about the "bugged" toll gates in Poland and even when doing 100% perfect journey, 50 Km left for delivery, toll gate, I know they are tricky, so I go through 10 Km/h, stop, wait until the barrier is up, the light goes green, move through, 10 Km/h, eyes jumping from one mirror to the other, 100% sure that I didn't touch anything but... 3% damage to the trailer, out of nowhere.

 

If you're into WoT jobs, keep this in mind: Some toll gates in Poland will deal damage (2-4%) even when you go through them perfectly aligned, touching nothing, no hard breaking, no hard accelerating...

Firstly I like how you said wrong game to F1. Normally I phrase it as mistake ETS2 for GTA5.

Well, I have a few points to say.

Firstly, I think you need to not blame the moderation team because look at it from their view. They review the incident and see your chat messages, therefore assuming you are both in the wrong for different actions.

Also, I know many people have complained about the appeal system (although I've never used it) have you considered your ban, the reason and thought about if you were in the wrong or maybe over reacted to the situation.

Finally, If someone crashes into you, I know it's irritating and frustrating but whats shouting at them going to do. Sometimes you just need to breath and put 'no. Report' or 'no. Really Dude?' because it's happened and this way you won't be penalised.

I see why you are frustrated but I think you need to think about the way you react to the situation because unfortunately shouting back isn't going to help your case.

Everyone needs to reconcile in their head that part of driving with so many people is that at some point we may get griefed. So be mentally prepared, enjoy experience of trucking

But you're definitely right. You can't blame the mod-team, but the "Appeal" and "Feedback" -system are quiet useless. Never got a feedback until now, and there's still a ban-note on my profile.

In the situation you said.
I would just calm down and let the player hit and do whatever he wants. And before I want to insult the player I have just said that I am recording and that soon he will be banned for it. There is no need to insult, because what he has done is already done. And then I would record all the actions that the player did for me. Soon after I would report on the site truckersMP.
And with that, the player would receive an appropriate ban.
