Problem with connection AGAIN

Mayban36

Question

Well, back in January had this exact problem.

It doesnt let me connect any server. it just says "Connecting to X server..." and nothing else happens, not an error, not timed out. Just it does NOTHING.

Back in January i had to reinstall windows to make it work, i made absolutely NOTHING to make this happen, do i really have to format windows to solve this problem?

I already tried lot of things and it doesnt let me in again.

Hey there :)

Please run the TruckersMP executable as an administrator and once open please hit F1 on your keyboard, then click 'install available updates', once finished try and start up and see if you can connect to the servers.

Please also make sure that you have steam open at the time of opening the mod and also make sure to check if there are any ETS 2 updates on steam, make sure that you download them.

You see that specific message is pertaining to the ETS 2 base game so this is an issue with the mod either not detecting that you have the latest version installed or something else is bugged.

As a last resort if none of the above solves your issue

1-) Completely re-install ETS 2, once re-installed open and choose Direct X 64 bit, then go into game and play a short job or something
2-) Exit and re-install TruckersMP again (as admin)
3-) Open TruckersMP (as an admin)
4-) See if the issue is resolved.

If the issue is still present even after trying these methods then please contact the official support team via this link who can help you further

Hello :)

Have you ever tried to un- and reinstall the truckersmp launcher? Have you also delete the TMP folder in %programdata% and the TMP folder in documents?

Also you could use a VPN, this might solve your problem.

Did you try to select another server?

Is this happening in both games (ETS2 and ATS) or do you only have ETS2?

Anyway, did you got any error message or something?

Hello

your antivirus or firewall software may be blocking the connection through ETS2MP Servers. Please check them.

If these answers above don't help, follow these guides:

Solution 1:

  1. Do a dns flush: https://www.wikihow.com/Flush-DNS

  5. Disable any unwanted programs you dont want running and hogging internet: https://www.howtogeek.com/74523/how-to-disable-startup-programs-in-windows/

Solution 2:

  1. Try single player and then go to Multiplayer again
  2. Reset my router

Well, due to the various options given here, our siege of possible solutions is getting narrow, but try this.

Verify the router or modem if the "UPNP" option is active, you usually find this option in the configures of your modem / router entering through the IP, for example: "192.168.1.1".

If it does not work, I suggest opening a support in TruckersMP, they will help you to solve this problem. ^_^

Hello :)

Follow these guides:

Solution 1:

The version of your Euro Truck Simulator 2 is wrong or the version of MP trucks.

Try lowering it again: https://truckersmp.com/download

Solution 2:

1-) Press Start or the Windows icon via your desktop taskpanel
2-) Search for "cmd"
3-) Right click the "cmd" icon and select "Run as Administrator"
4-)  Within cmd - Type this command: "ipconfig /flushdns" (Without any quotation " " marks)
5-) Wait for this to complete.
6-) Relaunch MP and attempt to connect

*Also - I would suggest for you to ensure the server you are trying to connect on to is not full / does not have a lot of players waiting in que. So try connecting to a different server if this is the case and report back to us what happens.
*It is definitely worth trying what I said above regarding "flushing the dns"

Solution 3:

1. Make sure you have the latest .Net Framework
2. Clean your temp files with CCleaner
3. Check your temp files path and make sure it's located at C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache
4. If you don't have "INetCache" folder make a new folder and name it "temp" and then open the Windows temp settings and choose the new path.

Solution 4:

1. Download this and i swear this no threat.Link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
2. Restart your PC
3. Make a right click on "TruckersMP"
4. Click on "execute as administrator"

Those topics doesnt have the same problem than me.

Im going to repeat: It says "Connecting to X server..." and never connects, it doesnt give an error, it just does nothing and stays like that forever.

I tried running it with the firewall off, nothing. So thats not the problem

Also with the antivirus off, still nothing.

Theres something i need to remove apart from programdata to do a FULL reinstallation of TruckersMP? Maybe something in regedit?

Hello :)

Make sure your steam account isn't open on another computer.

If not, follow these guides:

1.Open up your Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del on keyboard and see if there are some updating services running in the background processes
2. Disable any unwanted programs you dont want running and hogging internet
3.check your internet speed from here: http://www.speedtest.net/

While you are in Task Manager see if Delivery Service Optimisation is running as this will take up any bandwidth it can to download updates and things. If this is a real issue and your on windows 10 go to the wifi icon and click it

Scroll Down and Check the box that says metered connection. This stops any non essential updates downloading from a wifi network. However, once you have finished remember to uncheck the box so that you will get updates else you won't.
