Problem with launcher

Ok so i just started the launcher and notice there is a ATS update to do so i click the update and the below photo comes up and launcher crashes , However if i open the launcgher and ignore the install update and instead click play ETS2 i have no issues getting into the multiplayer (internet is running fine , havent changed anything since last update , no settings changed ect)Anyone have any idea.

 

So to summarise when i try to install latest ATS update the below image pops up and launcher crashes , But when i ignore the install update and just play ETS2 it works fine.

Hai,

 

first of all start the Launcher in Administrator mode and see if it works. Error message says "Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentionally unwanted software" looks like your Antivirus/Firewall is potentially blocking something.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Have you tried to reinstall the launcher itself and if you did make sure to run it as administrator

 

You can also try to clear your temp files on your PC - below is how;

Actually i think its ATS new update has triggered in Windows Defender not Bitdefender's firewall as its detecting core_atsmp.dll as trojan . It’s a false alert . all you need to do is just restoring detected Trojan file core_atsmp.dll .

Hi there 

 

Make sure you have the latest .Net Framework
 
Clean your temp files with CCleaner
 
Check your temp files path and make sure it's located at C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache
 
If you don't have "INetCache" folder make a new folder and name it "temp" and then open the Windows temp settings and choose the new path.

Restart your PC
Make a right click on "TruckersMP"
Click on "execute as administrator"

Hello @BlackriderUK, try uninstalling TruckersMP completely (everything related to it) and reinstall the MOD, done that, try starting again. https://truckersmp.com/download

Follow these guides:

Please Apply the Steps I Write;

1-)Press the Windows Key + R (Win+R) on your keyboard

2-)Enter "%programdata%" and press Enter (without the quotes)

3-)Find the folder "TruckersMP" and delete that folder.

4-)Navigate to C:\Program Files\ and delete the folder named "TruckersMP Launcher"

5-)Go to our website and re-download and install the Launcher with admin privileges https://truckersmp.com/download

6-)Open The Launcher with admin privileges and click "Install Available Updates"

Hello @BlackriderUK

 

Have you made sure that your Windows Firewall or Virus Program isnt blocking anything?

 

If so, please make sure it doesnt and retry to update your ATS

Also make sure you have all Windows Updates done yet, this can also cause complications with Multiplayer Updates

2.)Restart your computer

3.)Run Launcher as administrator

Ok update , I have tried everyone's advice from @[ETS2MCG] Kien Giang to @[ NOG ] Baldemar95 , fully uninstalled the game , updated net framework , reinstalled , everything installed perfect except for the ATS update , when i try to install the ATS update again the same problem occurs (running in admin dosn't help at all , no firewalls blocking , The only thing i haven't tried is @Syntackz Idea (that's because i don't know how to reset that , could you explain how please.

 

Thank you so much for all your helpful replies so far , its very much appreciated , Just a shame they haven't fixed the issue but i wont give up.

Hai,

 

just open Windows Defender and turn everything off. (Firewall etc..)

 

You can reset your Firewall here (sorry it's in german but im sure you'll find it). If you have Windows 10 just type Windows Defender Security Center and it'll pop up

Regrettably that didn't work either i turned off all antivirus , firewalls everything i could think of , but the launcher error still occurs (cant really be a firewall issue as i am able to start up ETS2MP with no issues at all the only issues is when trying to install ATS latest update.

Thank you for all your replies , i just had to do a ETS2 update for multiplayer (so i had to update both ETS2 and ATS ) it went through no problem this time (again didn't change anything ) so my guess is it was something wrong with the update , as it just updated fine (i have all my firewalls and everything back on )

 

Can a mod now lock this topic as the problem has now been fixed.
