Brandon8506
Its sad to see how ATSMP died out. its a really fun game and i wish more than 400-600 players play on it but sadly that's the players who go on it nowadays. I remember when the game first came out it blew up and i had to wait in queue to join. good old days man :/ anyone knows why it died out so fast? [WT] AlexXX
It was even worse some time ago. I remember where it was good when 200 players were playing ATSMP.
\/\/r3cl<3r
because SCS has no new updates for it... it's becoming stale
Game Developer ShawnCZek Posted February 15, 2018 Game Developer Share Posted February 15, 2018 The game had potential, but nowadays ETS 2 has most features of ATS. So only different environment can be loved by players. And it's newer, players prefer the stable game. Aleksandr8824
I have to agree, I feel like ETS2 has a lot more content and features, and I guess SCS struggled to keep ATS caught up, so it became "stale". it is a shame, I did really like ATS, but if i had a choice now over what to play, ETS2 or ATS, I'd choose ETS2 every time. [GA] SantosMP
Portuguese: É triste ver o ATS um pouco abandonado, mas com os poucos players que ainda restam, eu jogo tranquilamente até porque uma enorme e porcentagem de players do ATS são sensacional. Atenciosamente, Santos. English: It's sad to see ATS a little abandoned, but with the few remaining players, I play quietly because a huge percentage of ATS players are sensational. Regards, Santos. NoTime4name
It's a number of reasons really, most of all ATS' lack of content compared to ETS2, the map is somewhat repetitive as most of it currently is desert and straight roads, but also the majority of TMPs playerbase is from Europe and a lot of them quite simply prefer Europe as a setting. Though I'd say ATS has actually become a bit more active ever since New Mexico came out. And as for me I actually enjoy ATS more even if it is a lot less popular (and tbh, ETS2 can be as bad as ATS in some areas, given half of its population is all clogged up on the same road anyway...) RossFlys
When ATS was released, I was so enjoying playing it, now I dont find it as fun as ETS2:MP

Drakomis
As a person who initially played ATS, I can state for a fact that ETS2 has more to offer. It's got more offline too, especially with how further realistic (unmodded) the traffic acts. I genuinely enjoy playing the game, whereas I find playing ATS a chore because of constant load spikes and other issues. CEO and Owner, U.S. Trucking Now Hiring! Lego181
ETS2 is just more popular at the moment do to it being around longer and having more content in it.
Drakomis
I gotta say, I was on ATS yesterday and there was a good presence on it. Other than a server hiccup and two fellows who acted like they really wanted to scratch paint, it went pretty well. CEO and Owner, U.S. Trucking Now Hiring! MikeOG
I think it's all about the content, look what ETS2 has compared to ATs. The map that released by default is still bigger than the map American Truck has at the moment. They also reused a lot of the roads from ETS2, because I have never seen a lot of the junctions American Truck has and I've driven through most of the States already in my lifetime. Glun
The Heavy cargo is one of the few pros of ATS in my opinion but how quiet the server is always leads me back to ETS2 for long hauls eventually.
RaviGT
Like few people mentioned above, ETS has much more content to offer than ATS. The ATS map is tiny as well compared to ETS, which drives a lot of people off. I'd give ATS some time but it feels like SCS themselves don't care about the game. Prxnlge
ATS is a good game to play in peace (mp) but I would rather play ETS2 because I like to see a lot of players, gives a good feeling
Carsmaniac
I think ATS is just a little too monotonous, because of the area of the US SCS decided to start with. Add to that a bigger map in ETS 2, more variety in trucks, more varied roads, and a bigger established playerbase, and it sort of makes sense why it's the more popular of the two games.
