Game is FREEZING for a few seconds

ClownPrince

Question

Whilst in a convoy I've noticed that my game was regularly pausing/freezing me which led to quite a few "close calls". I was told that it could be down to having too many employees so I fired all 76 of them.

The issue remains. I even tried a new profile with 0 employees ever been employed and no other garages purchased.

The game appears to be auto saving which lasts about 2 seconds which is enough for the person behind you to close the gap and make contact with your trailer, unless they're miles behind you of course.

How can I either increase the time it takes before an autosave is made or decrease the amount of times it does it per hour etc?

You think it's a graphics card issue?

You sir are wrong. My graphics card is more than capable of running ETS2.

I'll check them links thanks @iFlufy.

Please be respective towards Members who are trying to help.

This problem could relate to a Graphics Card problem if it is packed in.

You may say what you want, but I'm almost definetely sure that the TruckersMP mod itself is causing the FPS drop / lag, and not our hardware. It's a matter of optimization (which is probably non-existant).

And why am I saying this? Because just take a look on how many people complain about FPS drops and laggy gameplay, there are video proofs everywhere.

Hello, I listed a few possible fixes down below :)

  1. Lower you graphics settings (especially mirror view distance and scaling)
  2. Sell some trucks and fire some workers (if you have a lot auto save with freeze your game for a second or two to catch up).
  3. Go to task manager (CTRL+ALT+Delete)
    1. Right click on your game > go to details
    2. Right click your game again > go to set priority
    3. Select above normal or High.

If any of these suggestions help, please let us know!

Regards.

Hi @ClownPrinceUK

Try to change your graphics quality, I think is this. What type of graphics card do you have ? A GTX ? If yes try to find the perfect graphics quality with Geforce Experience: https://www.nvidia.fr/geforce/geforce-experience/

Hope I help you,^_^

The graphics card I have is not a GTX. I have a Gigabyte R9 280 Windforce 3X which is a 3GB GDDR5 PCI-E Graphics Card and is more than capable of running this game and mods.

As mentioned above, I have 0 employees and only 1 truck.

I only have issues in Truckersmp with Freezing. In single player I do not have this issue and the profiles are the same (minus the level).

1. Right click ETS 2 in steam

2. Select 'Launch with OpenGL'

3. Let the game run and try going into game.

4. Exit the game and go back to steam, right click ETS 2 again but this time select 'Launch with DirectX (64-Bit)

5. Again go into game and then exit.

6. Start TruckersMP up and see if it fixes the problem

Do you get stuttering in single player too?
