Please try a reinstall of the game, this is likely a corruption in a file. Also, check your mods folder and check you are running the correct version.

i encountered that problem last week and it turned out it's an Antivirus was blocking Luncher.exe 

try to disable it .

in my case i installed " Advanced System care pro 11 " and it caused me this problem i uninstalled it and the problem was solved

Try to start the game as an administrator.

Verify the file integrity of ETS 2.

Delete TruckersMP and upload it again from the site.

Do you have mods ? 

If you have , please delete and make new profile and 
 

Go to Steam Library

Right click Euro Truck Simulator 2

Select Properties

Go to the "Local Files" tab

Select "Verify Integrity of Game Files"

Wait for the process to complete and relaunch ETS2 in Direct X mode.

hello!

 

Please check your Steam version from Ets2 because the mp still runs with

1.28 after you checked that reinstall the MP under "regedit" so you can be sure

you delete all TMP files after this one install the launcher new und try it again!
