can I change my drivers username?

Let's say I used a name none of my friends know me as, and I'd like to use my Steam name, is it possible to change it or do I need to create a new account, and will that still work with my old Steam account?

You can change your name on your TruckersMP profile:
 

> Go to https://truckersmp.com/profile/settings 

> Accounts Settings
> Username: (New name.)

Additional Information:
We have implemented a limit of changing usernames. (1 month)
We don't accept requests to change a username. However, when the username breaks a rule, we are allowed to change it.
Inappropriate nicknames contain: insults, profanity, impersonating admins, political names, email in name...
