wolfsjunge7
Dear truckers, i've been off the Calais-Duisburg road recently with my Scout for theoretical purposes. Since some players are not clear where to go slower and should give more attention to the other players, I created a small 'Traffic jam map' for an overview.Remember: This is only for newcomers! Anyone know wherever jam is on the road, can unpack his unnecessary comments not here. I do not care whether you know it or not. As you can see, I have made numbers around the circles. Each individual number tells the location of the cause of the traffic jam. I list them once: 1- Duisburg city. Service station, 2 company, hotel, garage. Also there is a fuel station out of city. Sometimes there are 130+ players in this area. I suggest that, stay away from this city in EU2 at rush hours. 2- First intersection of DC road(DC=Duisburg-Calais). 3- T-intersection. This intersection is the entrance of DC road. Also there is a hill. If you are heading to Calais, you have to climb it and it can be painful if you have low spec truck(especially less than 500 HP engine truck). 4- Sharp curve and border. There buildings on both sides so there is no place to avoid from oncoming overtakers. So you shouldn't overtake here. 5- Intersection to Amsterdam. If you don't head to Amsterdam and want to go straight, you should slow down a little bit. Because, on that bridge there is a bump and it can cause losing control on your vehicle. 6- Mandatory turning. There is an intersection, but one of the option is closed so you have only one option to go. Also the curve is so sharp and it looks like a snake. You have to slow down at this place. 7- Fuel station. One side fuel station, other side buildings. So you cannot avoid from oncoming overtakers again. So don't overtake here. 8- Rotterdam-Brussel intersection. Most players are in DC road, and road signs say that priority is who is coming from highway. So DC road has to give way to who is joining to DC road. 9- Border, fuel station. Some people meet at this place and sometimes there are too many players at this place. So be aware to low FPS when there are too many players. 10- Train crossing. Train cause to stop both sides and traffic stops completely for 1 min. Then it let both sides for 1 min, then again close the road. It causes traffic jam. Be aware of that. 11- Fuel station. Again one side is fuel station, other side is buildings, so there is no place to avoid. Don't overtake here. 12- Entrance of DC road(Calais side). Sometimes, some people meet there and sometimes this place is so crowded. Be aware to low FPS. If someone wants to supplement something, write it quietly. In the next update I will add it. But only if I consider it useful. Thanks for reading! wolfsjunge7 //Thanks to bluesbass to make a new map and a new description for each individual number! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last edit on 26/10/2017 by wolfsjunge7
Fumiko
Nice map but what happened to the the gas stations? I think it would be good to include those because people are always going in and out and you have to drive slow because you don't know when someone is going to pull out on you. Especially for the one between 6 and 7. Overall great idea
MrNoseyBonk
^ Not to mention people driving into the filling station the wrong way (Driving in through the exit and vise versa) because people cant read signs

There are service station, garage, hotel, bus station(non NCZ area), a few company and port. TruckersMP Retired Team Member EN/TR

wolfsjunge7
I don't integrate no. 14 and 13, because the picture is to big and I need to cut it a little bit. wolfsjunge7

TheCreepyTruckr
This is why I drive with the map open on my other monitor. It's quite nice to see what the really busy spots are and avoid them.
Caricature
//moved to ETS2 Discussion. First off, thank you for the effort. Regarding avoiding areas/dealing with busy areas, tbh.. not really needed since there is/are already guide(s) on Calais-Duisburg alternative routes or how to survive busy areas in ETS2. Regarding road familiarity, If a player isn't familiar with the roads, he/she shouldn't even be going at high speeds at all anywhere along the C-D road/any junctions in the map. One can always play in SP to familiarise him/herself with the roads. I'm sure that even in real life, one takes things with precaution when driving along somewhere new. Plus, there is already the ETS2Map which provides real life tracking of players so you already know where the busy areas are. TheKiero95
The worst traffic jams are by rail and viaducts.
TheGreekGeek
I will say that 30% of the traffic on the Duisburg - Calais road is due to people being parked on the side of the road TheGreekGeek TruckersMP Player
