I am Larsen Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 Suggestion Name: Protection against horn spammers Suggestion Description: If a player is honking for too long they will get a warning, and if continuing to honk, they will get kicked. The time taken for a player to get a warning about honking would probably be around ~5 seconds of continuous honking. And if honking for 10-15 seconds the player will automatically get kicked. Then there is a cooldown, so players cant honk for 9 seconds, then stop for a second and then honk again for 9 seconds. Any example images: Nope! Why should it be added?: The Horn Spamming Protection System (or HSPS if you will) is useful for preventing people from spamming their horn, annoying people insanely.
Killua // Ireland ^_^ Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 (edited) -1 No way should there be any sort of auto system and 5 - 10 secs is not really horn spamming, if you don't like horns then tuen the horn sound off and if someone honking for a minute or more for no apparent reason then thats real horn spamming and can be reported Edited August 13, 2017 by Killua // Ireland ^_^
Guest Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 I Can Respect Your Idea But A Ridiculous Idea.Horn Spam Finish Stop for 1 second and we can hit Horn again.
_.Queen Rosalie._ Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 -1 horn spam isn't really such a big issue, or at least, isn't a big enough issue to warrant a strict automatic system, especially as 10-15 seconds isn't that long, what if someone cuts in queue so someone holds the horn down to draw attention to the queue jumper? The bigger priority is the jumper as they could cause an accident. Also, is it really fair to kick someone from the server just for using their horn? It's like the police arresting you for honking your horn IRL, it's too strict of a punishment for a minor issue, yeah if someone's holding their horn for over a minute, then it can be seen as annoying because that's plenty of time to get the message across, but 10 seconds is way to short. plus, if horn spamming was such an issue, why allow people 9 seconds with a 1 second cooldown? That's effectively saying, "carry on holding it down". Either say no spamming full stop or impose strict guidelines with no cooldown.
Interstate Nomad Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 It is possible to deactivate the horn sounds in the multiplayer options.
Guest Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 Just go to TAB and deactivate Horn sounds if you are annoyed by them .-1
Guest Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 While I understand why you thought of this, I have to give -1 simply because there isan option to deactivate, if there wasn't the option to do that I would have supported this.
tamerlightning3 Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 -1 5 to 10 seconds is NOT horn spam. 30+ is. Also, it's not a big problem.
Interstate Nomad Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 The main function of warning devices (audible and visible) is to use them as a danger signal. They are only to be operated if there is an immediate risk for other road users. I doubt there exists a situation that would require a continuously use of the horn for a time period of 3+ seconds.
frnknstnp421 Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 -1 due to the fact that these sounds can be turned off. The horn icon that appears next to the truckers name is a nice feature in this case because you can see that they are honking without having to listen to it. This would be too strict of a rule since many truckers regularly run red lights and fail to yield, especially if nobody is around, and nothing seems to happen to them. This was probably a suggestion worth making and seeing the opinions of others here though.
Sir Smokey Posted January 9, 2018 Report Posted January 9, 2018 I think this is a good idea personally, especially if you're in a built up area. But if you don't like the horn sounds then turning them off in the settings is your best option.
Harpreet Posted January 22, 2018 Report Posted January 22, 2018 No. Turn off horn sounds if you hate them. -1
GGF MD Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 The idea is ok. But 5-10 seconds is too short! + They can honk for 30 seconds, then they release the button and they can honk again. -1 Just disable the horns and you won't hear horn spammers anymore! darkneon2002 Posted January 23, 2018 Report Posted January 23, 2018 Maybe it's an idea not to have a timer but send the spammer a warning when he gets reported for it a few times (twice maybe?) Then if after the warning more reports come in within a given time frame a second warning will be issued. If still more reports come in he will be kicked. Game Producer Smoky Posted July 11, 2020 Game Producer Report Posted July 11, 2020 Rejected. This can easily be bypassed by not pressing the horn button for a long time. 1
