Driver-Ramon Posted August 2, 2017 Report Posted August 2, 2017 What do you think of a convoi radio? If you drive with a 20-man convoy and you talk through the radio and another convoy comes along with 27 men who also talk on the radio then you do not hear your own convoy what they say because you hear the other convoy. What I mean by this means that you can switch to convoi radio or to public radio. You can only come with the same tag in that convoy and you can add a password to your kovoi radio that can only join you in the radio conversation if you know the password...
Subtle [HKG] Posted August 2, 2017 Report Posted August 2, 2017 -1 basically that's why there are multiple CB radios
DerAmpelmann Posted August 2, 2017 Report Posted August 2, 2017 /Moved to Open for discussion > Gameplay Please edit the suggestion to follow the suggestion format: Now my thoughts on the suggestion. In the CB radio there are plenty of channels to choose from and most of the players stick to the default channel 19. Picking another channel usually gives you some privacy and it's unlikely other users are using it at the same time. What comes to the password part, there are many programs you can use for chatting, e.g. Discord and Teamspeak. On those programs it's easy to manage who gets to the channels and who doesn't. They tend to be a bit better quality wise too. You could rather use them for communications during a convoy than a separate convoy radio system in-game.-1 Ready to go!
nativedavid33 Posted August 5, 2017 Report Posted August 5, 2017 -1, there is the CB. There are (At least) 19 channels on the CB, what are the odds that the other Convoy is gonna be on whatever one you switch to? 1/19, or approximately 5%. If that 5% occurs, then just switch to another channel, or use VOIP.
_.Queen Rosalie._ Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 -1 we already have the CB radio with multiple channels to select, all you have to do is select a rarely used channel to use for convoys, so any channel from 1 - 18 is available, if the co-ordinator wishes to speak to traffic or admins direct, they can switch to general channel (19) and broadcast there. if you just want privacy, then setting up a discord or teamspeak server with private passwords to keep communication to members, then that's your best bet.
Myxtro Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 Go to first person > press tab > look up > you see a little radio with the number 19 on it > press some of the buttons on the radio, one will turn it off/on and another one will change the number > choose a number and tell your friends to use the same number > done, you now have a somewhat private radio connection
tamerlightning3 Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 -1 If you want a password, make a Discord server. Or TeamSpeak.
slushbro Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 -1 for this purposes is Teamspeak or Discord.
Davnoz Posted September 24, 2017 Report Posted September 24, 2017 Like many have said above there are I believe 21 CB channels counting 0 to 20 so I think it makes more sense to pick one for the convoy then all the participants can switch to that channel. OR use alternatives like Teamspeak or Discord. -1 iHobbit | Report Moderator "You are entitled to food, clothing, shelter and medical attention. Ashley Posted September 25, 2017 Report Posted September 25, 2017 Channel encryption on the CB radio is not going to be implemented at any point in the near future. You can use one of nine-teen CB channels to communicate and can always change if others are on it. If you would like private voice, use an external programme - Teamspeak 3, Discord, Skype, to name but a few. Rejected. Reporting a Player | Appeal your Ban | Visit our Support System | Our Rules
