Experiencing kernel error or random crashes on TruckersMP Island? ×

Question

Hello, I just recently started playing ETS2 and discovered this Multiplayer mod. I downloaded it today after making my account and got the launcher to open with ease, but now I am seemingly unable to properly download a new update that is on the launcher. It'll go up to a certain point and freeze there. I've tried leaving it and seeing it picks up later, no luck. I've tried restarting the download and that works sometimes but other times, no luck. I'm stuck at the launcher with it unable to patch due to freezing for some reason.

Any suggestions?

(edit - typo fix)

Please ensure your anti virus software + windows firewall has given an exception to the TruckersMP launcher.

Ensure MSI Afterburner or Riva Tuner are not running when attempting to download the updates, since these two programs are known to cause conflicts with our launcher.

After following what was said above, run the launcher as admin, press F1 and download the updates again.

If the above fails to work ^

Please use the Google DNS - 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

Follow the instructions below:

> From your Control Panel in Windows, go to Network and Sharing Center
> Click on 'change adapter settings' as shown by this image: http://prntscr.com/fqn10u
> Right click the network you are connected on and select 'properties' as shown by this image: http://prntscr.com/fqn1de
> Select Internet Protocol Version 4... and select 'properties' as shown: http://prntscr.com/fqn1to
> Select 'Use the following DNS Server addresses and enter the Google DNS values (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 ) as shown by this image: https://prnt.sc/fqn28s - Press OK and restart your computer.

> After having restarted your computer, please go ahead and attempt to download the updates (ensure you run the launcher as administrator first).

Try reinstalling the launcher. Uninstall it, press Windows+R (Win+R) and type "%programdata%" (without the quotes) and hit Enter. A Windows Explorer window will open. Locate a folder named "TruckersMP" and delete it. Then, navigate to "C:\Program files" and locate a folder named "TruckersMP Launcher" and if it exists, also delete it. Once you are done with that, go to our site and download the latest version of the launcher again and run it as administrator. Proceed with the installation normally and once done, run the launcher (also as administrator) and try to install the updates if it offers you any.

Some people should really get a license before even thinking about buying Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator. Drive safely, folks!
