Duisburg remapped without changing anything in the base game!

Suggestion Name:

Duisburg traffic flow improved

Suggestion:

The Duisburg road should be a one-way as showed in the image, this should help traffic flow and not let anyone get in in case their in carrier mode yet this also keeps the large amount of traffic in the game. I think this is a major improvement and should be implemented into Europe 2.

Note: Please check the image before commenting. I might have miss-wrote so do check the image to get a better understanding.

Any example images:

Why should it be added?:

I love traffic in TruckersMP but I am always scared of being rear ended, slammed into, brake checked, or hit when ever I am in my Carrier profile. But I figured out a way to improve the traffic flow in Duisburg and it keeps the large amount of traffic but without people intersecting with each other and without having to mod/change the base game!

Q&A

Q: What if I have traffic offences on?

A: People who have traffic offences on should stay on the correct side of the road or they can turn traffic offences of in the game play settings

Q: If I was about to turn into a drop off point but missed it what should I do?

A: You will have to go around again, you wont have to exit and re-enter Duisburg.

Q: How will I know witch way to go?

A: In Duisburg there's a average of 50-100 vehicles, if every vehicle were going one way you can check witch way the traffic is flowing. Or a admin who is monitoring Duisburg can get a Scout vehicle and park in direction the one-way faces.

Q: If there is a accident and one lane is blocked what should I do?

A: You don't need to overtake. Just go into the other lane since it's a one-way! B)

Do you mean by adding another road/lane? If so, this is not possible. The map, almost the entire base game is made and owned by SCS. If you want an update to the map itself, you have to suggest this to them and TruckersMP

If you don't edit the base game (and you said no need to edit it), how are you going to enforce this one way rule? Admins can't watch this place all the time as there are reports from everywhere.  People can hardly come out the service station and this will not solve that issue at all.

No, keep the base game but let drivers who have traffic offences turned off drive on the wrong side of the road (the left side) that way it flows better with heavy traffic. I tested this in Cities skylines and it made a big difference

There's no need to do this. I think, if the players go to other cities, the problem is solved. As a result, there are not only Calais and Duisburg on the map.

Happy Trucking.

This only changed the traffic in the Duisburg city if you look at the image. It still lets players get to where they need to go to.

Admins wont need to watch the place

They can use dummy cars or have 1 admin that is monitoring, or check the way traffic is flowing.

Trust me, it makes no difference, just because you tested it in city skylines where the AI follows the path of least resistance, doesn't mean real people are going to act the same.

The only way way this will work is if all traffic can only exit from the single lane road, but traffic can enter and exit on the dual carriageway, meaning traffic is dispersed cleanly, alternately, just simply close the single lane entry road after the fuel station and force all inbound and outbound traffic through the dual carriageway where traffic light rules are tightened for all lanes.

but the main issue is enforcing any road or lane closures because you're going to get those who wish to drive legitly so drive on the correct side of the road and causing traffic blocks worse than they are now.

I am going to quickly sketch a drawing on how this will work and I will reply to you ASAP

This is a useful suggestion since every one of us knows the chaos while entering the Duisburg Service. If the traffic would be allowed on only one way as it was represented in the map, then nobody will need to turn left by getting across to the right lane while exiting the Duisburg Service. By this way, no player rams or blocks each other. If there would be no traffic in front of the Duisburg Service, then there won't be traffic in all Duisburg completely.

Also I'd like to remind that this suggestion is a very hard one since a change of rule which is specific/exceptional only for Duisburg can take much time and effort.

True, but more people should debate on this so we can get it over with.

How about using dummy text like nametags on trucks just before you enter the city it warns you that its a oneway telling you witch way to go. That way there should be no need for a admin! I will sketch what I mean in a sec.

Dude This is SCS's job TMP can't change map

He's not talking about a map change but more of a traffic flow change which could work but it would mean more resources and I don't know if putting more work on admins to manage traffic flow will be accepted. Actually I doubt it would be. However I like the idea, 0 from me for now until lack of man-power isn't such an issue.

You won't need man power, just use tag's like I showed in this picture :)

And what makes you think that people will pay attention/obey those tags? Cities like this, you see people driving wrong way, on the walksides, just to get to wherever they're going 5 seconds earlier, do you really think that they'll go all around a block if they can just keep straight?

Sorry but I don't see this working at all. -1 from me

And there's something called 'reporting'

It's a thing where normal players following the rules can record/screenshot trolls driving on the wrong side.

First thing - how you want to add IT without changing game project? Its big change to map .

Second thing - you really think that players will obey that rule? Admins will have to be there 24/7 to keep that place safe.

Third thing - it will be annoying on less busy servers like Eu 3, so it could be only add in Eu2.

Main idea wasnt bad, but it is impossible to be add.

@user454 But those streets/roads are not wrong way, unless you modify the map. So again, I don't see this working. It's like those suggestions to make the famous highway/CD road crossing better by preventing people to turn left, a good idea, but undoable. Unless you place 24x7 admins on those places.

By the way, reporting works also for players that don't yield when entering/exiting prefabs inside a city. So it can be used too for those who ram into your vehicle while you're passing by and they exit without looking (or without caring). Check my profile, I was probably recording and reporting people long before you knew that TruckersMP existed.

In the end, the only way to avoid chaos in those places is: Don't go there. Or if you don't have a choice, do it in SP, deliver, pick a cargo, drive away from the city and go back to MP. Or try a different, less populated server.
