Elysia ELF Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 Suggestion Name: Message Display for the Police Vehicle Suggestion Description: It allows the admin to show a message like: Road Closed on the rear or between the "police lights" the message can flash like: on, off, on, off what the admin want He have the press a button and then he can write the message and choose the mode he want like: "show only or flash" and it will show on the rear or between the police lights He can add the display in the "Workshop" or add a new "light bar" for this mode. When a player try to put it on the car he will be kick out because he maybe write some stupit words or sentence Any exemple images: (Real Life) Why it should be added? Some player have the chat off and they don't know what happen and the admins dont have to write it 100 times in the chat they turn the display on and warn the players or stop random a player 1 6 3 3
Trucking Gekco Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 1. If they add this then players will want this on the pilot cars. 2. Granted, chats may be off. But it's very obvious if something is closed by the admins because there is more than 1 admin there. 3. It might be very hard to read anyway, especially for those who need to play with a very low graphic setting. 1 1
TrademarkGamer Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 I see no point in this, simply turn the chat back on when in an area you need info 2 1
Smalley Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 I don't see the point of this. What use is it going to be to the admins and how will it work with users? 1
Interstate Nomad Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 A serverwide message in chat still reaches way more users than a locally restricted marquee on a police car. Users that have their chat deactivated will latest find out what is going on once they arrive at the scene. In my opinion, TMP has enough flashing/ blinking devices. I do not see the need to add more of them. 1 1
Freckleman Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 Nice idea but I don't see the point. I think most people see and admin blocking a closed road will wonder what's going on so turn chat on.
Guest Posted April 2, 2017 Report Posted April 2, 2017 This would really add to the realism of the game and would be a nice touch. Yes there is chat but sometimes you miss what's written in chat
sebnichols Posted April 2, 2017 Report Posted April 2, 2017 It would be nice, however rather impractical. How often do you pass a police car in game? Also, some people's computers already struggle in high population areas, so I think I would be unfair on them if this feature was brought in.
Caricature Posted April 26, 2017 Report Posted April 26, 2017 won't be of much use. just turn the chat back on.. why turn it off in the very first place when you seem to need it. if the admins have no problem or don't mind typing 100times, that's their issue and don't require you to speak up for them. and even if the said admin has to type it 100times, that specific player would probably be kicked/banned/teleported by the 3rd-5th time the admin had to repeat his warning to said player. Azuly Posted February 11, 2019 Report Posted February 11, 2019 -1. 1. Can be easily abused 2. Not everyone understands English 3. Too complicated 4. People will join the team aiming to have the police car even harder
FernandoCR [ESP] Posted February 11, 2019 Report Posted February 11, 2019 TBH, I don't pay a lot of attention to the chat... I'd rather pay attention to the road and my surroundings, so I don't see the need for something like this. And yes, I noticed after giving some "reactions" that the topic is almost 2 years old, but... I roam the forums by "Show unread messages" and this one happened to be there... 1

Guest Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Neutral thing in my opinion. Some people don't really pay attention to the chat. So in that context it would be a good idea. On the other hand you would need to make it very obvious for people to see it.
FernandoCR [ESP] Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 I'm sorry but I see this useless. Players can miss administrative messages in the chat, but those messages are sent to everyone, this thing on top of a car would only be vissible for very nearby vehicles and many of them would probably miss it as well, for not paying attention, for having their graphics set to low res, etc. And being of very little help, the use of something like this in heavily crowded areas would only add to the stress for lower-end machines, FPS loss, lags, etc. I don't think that the benefits outweight the drawbacks. 2
ASIR Posted March 13, 2019 Report Posted March 13, 2019 Good idea, but players with lower graphics settings will have problems to read it. 1 Former Game Moderator Leader
fidget3306 Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 I suggested something very similar to this a year or two ago, and it was very quickly rejected. I am very interested to see where this goes. I think a better way to implement this would on the roof mounted matrix boards on the special transport escort vans, which are currently used by the event team. However, I do feel that if this is implemented the option should be available to players. Players can not close a road, yet are often first on scene to an accident or congested area. This is where the matrix board would become useful, because it would allow players to park at the side of the road, a short distance ahead of the problem area, and warn traffic. There is of course the issue of possible abuse of this feature. I believe that this problem can rectified by preventing players from tying a message, and instead having some preset messages to choose from.
Guest Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 Its kinda pro and contra at same time, as previous said may few people won't see it because of low graphics Pro would be that it looks cool and for some who have the chat off get to know what is happening infront of them But i am excited to see where this suggestion is going
ThreeGlavModz Posted April 12, 2019 Report Posted April 12, 2019 Doesn't admins messages appear even if chat is off? If no, this should be solution. Admin messages allways appears, even if chat is off.
Osetaen Posted May 24, 2019 Report Posted May 24, 2019 It's a good idea. However, it may be a problem for players who do not have a good graphics card and for players who do not speak English.

- ViruX - Posted November 30, 2019 Report Posted November 30, 2019 @Trucking Gekco The bug, where the chat and the voice chat just randomly disappear still exists
russo_6599 Posted December 2, 2019 Report Posted December 2, 2019 -1 Sorry, I see it unnecessary, in itself if there is a police vehicle blocking a street means that something happened, be warned or not, the detour will have to do, BUT in alternative to your suggestion: what exists is a vial vehicle diverting the transit before the police car. [ARG] Alfa131313 Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 As many have mentioned before, the idea is good, and for me, it makes sense. However, I think that the easiest and simplest way to close a road would be the admin directly blocking it with the blue lights on. By using this method, everyone should understand. After all, there is an emergency vehicle blocking the way. To understand that, no English or graphics setting is required. TLDR: good idea, but can be done easier. 1
Lukassrs Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 I don't think that's necessary. Also, I think that you can't read the scripture from far away anyway, so it's no use.
