I cant connect to any server

Roel

Question

Hello, i want to play TruckersMP on my new laptop so i installed TruckersMP. Everything work but i can't connect to any server:

Connecting to ........ server...

Cannot connect to server, it may be caused by your internet connection issues.

You will be automaticlly reconnected within next 10 seconds.

What can i do?

(My computer has a: Nvidia Geforce GTX960m, Intel Core I5, 8gb ram, Wireless AC WiFI, 1gb Ethernet, Windows 10 Home)

(Speedtest: 7ms ping, 71Mbps download, 60Mbps upload)

(I live in the Netherlands)

Hi,

Please try these things

Also try this,

Reset your network adapator

This page will guide you through what you need to do and explains for different Windows operating systems as you scroll down.

https://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=6653

You type

·         netsh int ip reset reset.txt

·         netsh winsock reset

·         netsh advfirewall reset

In to a DOS window (Comand Prompt).

Hi Sentinel,

it didn't work. Do you now what i can do now?

But thanks for reply

If you have an anti-virus software, please make sure that it is disabled or so that the firewall (if one is with your AV) or the win firewall is allowing TruckersMP and ETS2 through it, did you try this one  https://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=6653 ?

Try running TruckersMP as an administrator and also try to run in compatibility mode for Win7 and Windows Server 2008 SP1  http://pearsonsupport.helpserve.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/210/21/how-to-install-or-run-a-program-in-compatibility-mode-in-windows-7

Have you tried re-installing TruckersMP?

https://truckersmp.com/download

Also if that doesn't work you may need to let the server ports through your router,

For EU #2 ETS Server the port to allow through your firwall is 42880

You have a gaming laptop but at least it doesn't have those complicated network cards.

This is the 1st time you are trying to play multiplayer on the new laptop without being able to connect to the server?

If you are not using any weird internet security with extra firewall, you need to check your router since ISP's tend to have strict firewall policies in some countries and if you aren't already using it a cable try to swap from wi-fi into cable.

In general TeamViewer would be much easier to get assist since it could be the most simple problem to the most complicated one.

It sounds like the game is preventing you to join the server because your ping is exceedingly high, for example "600ms" or more. The game stops people joining the servers with high ping to allow people to drive on the roads without someone pinging backwards and forwards and doing 99% damage to someone else's truck unintentionally. Try and contact your Service Provider and ask them if they can diagnose the problem, maybe get a engineer sent over to replace your router, or place the router in a better location. Good luck! :)

**edit** " Speedtest: 7ms ping, 71Mbps download, 60Mbps upload " Remember that this is a speed test that is connected to a server that could be closer to you, and with less people using it. I would recommend using PingPlotter to identify the problem. PingPlotter can show you if the high ping is coming from the game server, or your internet router. If you are interested in PingPlotter then go to the site https://www.pingplotter.com/ and download the app.

1 Open the firewall wall settings page.
  How?
2 Click Program Permissions.
3 Select a ets2 that has Outgoing or Blocked access.
4 Click Edit.
To select a new program, click Add, then go to the program you want to add permission for and select it.
5 Under Access, click the arrow to pull down the menu and select Tam.
6 Click Apply.
