Norton blocking new TruckersMP launcher

Hello,

 

Ever since the latest update was released, Norton (a anti virus protection software) has been blocking the new launcher. It has been notifying me that "Install TruckersMP" is unsafe and is considered a threat. I'm really not sure if Norton is right, or if it is being too strict with TruckersMP.

TruckersMP no single virus. Your antivirus is not doing its job well.
Turn off or delete antivirus.

I have Norton, It has a habit of being over protective. Is it a popup box which says it's unsafe? if so click it and there should be an option to restore the file or ignore it.

Hello @grizzbear,

 

normally Norton will show you a window with the "problem". In the bottom right should be an option to ignore it. Then you're launcher should work again. You also can add it to the whitelist.

If you downloaded the launcher from the TruckersMP website it's being too strict. If you downloaded it from a link someone else gave you then chances are it's right.

I don't recommend Norton at all, but that's kinda off topic.

 

 

Add TruckersMP to your exclusions at Norton.

Hey man I know exactly what you gotta do as i use the same antivirus 

 

So download the Installer and then go to the folder where you downloaded it, Rightclick and go to Properties and then Click Unblock

Hit apply / ok and you should be all set

What you are experiencing is called a false positive. There will be a way to bypass it, a simple Google search should tell you how to.
