Aestrial Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Hi all, Suggestion Name: Add a additional button on the tab menu for /pinfo Suggestion Description: Instead of having to type /pinfo in the game chat when you want someone Id's etc.. Would it not be easier to just click on the players name, then press a /pinfo button on the tab menu? Similar to the report button on the tab menu, there could be another button for /pinfo Any example images: No Why should it be added?: This addition would make it faster, easier, and overall safer to get a players ID's. Yes, typing works fine, but with this addition, it would be a much more quicker and safer way to get a players /pinfo ID's. Penguin Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Yeah this would be awesome Also if the button could be key-bound, this would be even better The only problem is, it dosen't take that long to type /pinfo, however a button would make that easier. +1 from me :3 1 Current Status: Waddle On!
Aragon Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 The report button already has that. While it may not be obvious, it doesn't make sense to put a button next to the report button just for showing the ID's of a player when it's the same exact thing as the report player button minus the send button. 2 Signature made by Aestrial
SlavaH Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 to be fair, it would take just as long as /pinfo. for quicker use, you can copy&paste /pinfo in every time if you are on a road that trolls like to roam on. You would also still have dangers for players who steer using their mouse. Sorta stuck in the middle on this.
Guest Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Hi there, I think that this would be a good idea if it wasn't already implemented in chat. Also , if you click on the player in the tab-menu and then click report , you can see the same info as you would by doing the pinfo command. I hope this helps!

Yes but it would be nicer, with an button in the Tab Menu. Then you would see the ID and all like if you write /pinfo . Would be more easily and would be a nice "invention". 1
Aestrial Posted October 20, 2016 Author Report Posted October 20, 2016 Thanks for your replys. You have to remember, you need to put the ID of the player also. Just clicking on the players name and clicking /pinfo button would surely be faster. But I get where your coming from. 25 minutes ago, Aragon0450 said: The report button already has that. I get where your coming from entilely, but here's my counter-point on this; With the report button, yes, the ID of the player appears, but it does not appear in chat. My suggestion will mean that's when you click the players name > /pinfo button, the ID's of the player will appear in chat, just like they do now. With the report button, as soon as that player has gone, you are no longer able to take a screenshot of that players ID. With this button, you don't even have to stop driving, and the ID will appear in chat, for the player to me a screenshot at a later date. Guest Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 @DasBergziege If there was a button on the tab menu that sent the pinfo command to chat when you click the player... then yeah but it is kinda already implemented when you try and report a player. You see all of his info on the report panel.
Penguin Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 I mean you could have the button open a dialog box, in which there is a single text box that asks for the In-game ID. That way it will then return the /pinfo very quickly Current Status: Waddle On!

Guest Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 I understand what you guys are saying but what would be the point when you can already type the command. What about a command in the chat like like /id or /tmpid ?

Point 1; Although you can already type in the command into the chat, with this button, all you would do is select the player, click the button, and the relevant ID's would appear. It would be a faster and safer method to get these ID's rather than having to bring up the chat, and type it in. Point 2; Again, commands in chat are fine and dandy, but buttons on the tab menu are far more effective and quicker, which means less time taking your eyes of the road to type the command in. Hope this clarifys this for you. Guest Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Yes but as i have said.... It is already there in the report panel and you should be reporting in-game at the same time as taking your video evidence...
SlavaH Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 to be fair, i think that its best to keep the tab menu as de-cluttered as possible IMO. Its easier as a chat command for me as i have a wheel, but maybe not so easy for a keyboard user. Same as having it in the tab menu for a mouse user.

Some here don't like my idea, some do and fair enough. I think it would be far easier and faster than typing it in chat. SlavaH Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 This kind of button might just make a best of all worlds for all users so people dont crash etc while trying to /pinfo someone.

Spookey that. That reason was the exact reason I suggested this. Even though I've got a wheel, I have crashed twice recently trying to type in /pinfo. As you say, it would make the best of both worlds. Forraz Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 I want to give a +1 and a -1 for many reasons. They are mentioned above where you can write " /pinfo <id>" or you can record them, check their name, go into the Spawn Log and search their name and there is also the Report function that shows the pinfo aswell. If I could add something to this suggestion it would be to actually have pinfo as a keybind somewhere that just pops up a box where you write in their ID and the report function comes up so you don't have to press tab / search for their name / report while they are speeding or teleporting away. This will get a +1 in the end from me The Bot That Never Sleeps If you see a forum post that might be breaking the rules, report it. +Rules+How to become GM+Frequently Suggested Things+Feedback+ +FaceTrackNoIR+ Did your post instantly get Forum Moderator by me? FernandoCR [ESP] Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 I almost never use /pinfo. If I find a troll or a reckless driver and feel the need to report that player, I just go to the TAB screen (which I keep open almost all the time), find the name, click report, send the report and then get video with nVidia Share. Like others have said above, I get the same info about the player, recorded just after the incident. So i don't see the need for a new button that doesn't actually add anything. 1

Weepydruid Posted May 18, 2017 Report Posted May 18, 2017 I never use the command /pinfo there is no point especially if your on the road it takes time... Same with the whole tab and report.... That's why its easier to record and then check your log files for their truckers ID keeps it simple....

But sometimes their in-game nickname is not always same as real world of trucks nickname thats why people usually type /pinfo even though they are recording, otherwise you won't be able to give enough evidence for your report ßß

Some updates ago, the name you saw in the game was that of the player's Steam account, but the developers changed that in a recent update, now the name you see in the game for each player is their TruckersMP account username. Problem is that right now (at least in my case), lots of those names are appearing in Chinese in the spawn log. But you can always search for the Server ID number and knowing the time when the action happened, locate that player. I had to do this just yesterday.
