So I assume the CB is basically game chat?

 

what is the best channel to have my CB set to, or should I just leave it on default?

Default channel is 19 and you'll find most people on there if you want to convoy with some people I advise you to agree with eachother to use a different channel so you con properly communicate without others talking over you.

Dose the CB only work with you are in  radius of other truckers? 

 

Dose typeing chat chat show to everyone in the server?

people can only hear you and see you type in chat if they are on tab (Press tab button in game to show).

i think the radius is 700m?

Both CB and chat only work within a certain radius.

 

If you want te sent a message through chat to someone outside of your radius you can send a pm to that player :

/pm [ID] [text]

E.g.

/pm 123 Hello!
