Hello everyone , i looked up but in fact i couldnt see the term blinkers in a suggestions with the search system so there it is.

Suggestion Name: Add a rule for blinkers
Suggestion Description: See why should it be added

Any example images: No.

Why should it be added?: It might seem common for some of us , but for quite a lot of people its not so important (You could say the same for headlights) , but in fact it is important as it could lower a lot of the crashes that happens even at high speed. I dont think it would be unfair of people to simply warn the other person in the other lane that he's going to turn left or right , and its not a huge investment either , its simply a key away and it could help a lot with random crashes everywhere in the game , of course it wont just solve everything , but it could help a little bit.

I also think when someone make a report about someone switching to their lanes , the fact that if he had or not the blinkers on should matter , of course if hes right there and he turns to your lane that is your fault , but if you prepared to overtake him on a 2 lane road , it should be taken into account that he basicly told he was ready to switch lanes by using his blinkers.

TLDR : Add a rule for blinkers as it would help with the traffic since most crashes happens because of people recklessly switching lanes with no warning or anything.

I use my blinkers and even when i use them people still crash into me. I dont think blinkers are gonna solve issues. Especially for the players that are flying down the highway. -1 for me. Also their are enough rules at the moment adding a blinker rule in my view would be pointless

In my opinion this would just be wasting occupying an admin/support Team's time compared too the more serious issues.

And with the amount of users who don't use their blinker, this would probably bloat the report system. Again requiring more of the support teams attention, which might be better spent with Insulting/ramming/blocking/ect reports.

This is common sense and good behavior on the road, but I don't believe that be necessary any "rules", especially any punishment like a ban or kick.

Many player don't follow a "simple rules" like a "Don't park in Europort", therefore, this case is "so little" to worry. The servers are very big and with others problems to care.

^ Its in the law that you have to use your blinkers when you switch lane and stuff otherwise you get fines around 150€ first time then it scales up , at least in Europe , i cant tell for Washington as i dont live there...

I can totally understand the frustration when you get into an accident with someone who didn't indicate but if we just make everything bannable, it becomes less fun. It should be common sense for most drivers and a blinker isn't a big offence. People need to learn how to control their truck and speed at the right times on the right roads. That's the issue. Someone could be distracted and still crash into a truck with its blinker on.

Doesn't mean it's enforced and/or followed, ahaha. I'm being a little funny (or at least trying to, my jokes rarely go over well) but also being dead serious. 80% of Washington drivers don't use their blinker when turning, changing lanes, etc. I'm not saying it should be acceptable, but we should stay true to real-life here.

TMP should use the same mindset as Washington cops when they see someone forget their blinker: "not worth my time".

I don't see how it'd really be enforceable, and then i can see people  using it as a grudge thing.

"Hahaha I got video of you not using your blinkers, report inbound!"

Well basically it's a good rule, just basically to take this out in real life we also got to use blinkers...

if it helps in game or not, that's another thing but it sure shall be required.

If you aren't blinking in real life it's neither that we report someone for doing that, however if there is a crash because of that, this should be taken upon the notes.

I got rammed earlier today, not damaged, but there was someone crashed and blocking the road, thus from a little distance I turned up my warning blinkers and slowly breaked, however the person behind me didn't pay attention and just gone on driving (well not paying attention... I'd say BS as he kept driving on and not even stopped.) however the other person got rammed aswell by him. Got back on the road luckily the trucker infront on the opposit lane stopped and didn't get frustrated. #FAITH_IN_HUMANITY_IN_ETS2 :D

So ye just a note.

Use your blinkers and look at the person infront of you whose using blinkers ;)

This can and can't work.

PROS:

Gives good indication if trucker is changing lane.

Encourages truckers to follow traffic rules and be better drivers.

Might work in EU1 etc.

CONS:

Trolls/Daydreaming people will still crash into you regardless.

This is way too strict for EU2.

The rule can be exploited and can cause unnecessary bans.

OVERALL:

This isn't going to work, it is way too strict and a pointless way to get banned/kicked. I'm sorry but it is a -1 from me.

-1 from me. Won't stop the trollers, even without the indicators, drivers kind of know where you are going. Sometimes I see no problem going to overtake someone, not using any indicators, since people look in their mirrors, right? :D Trollers are trollers, and they won't not troll and this rule will not concern them in any way, shape or form. Sorry :|

it's allready covered by the rules as they are today...

so -1 from me too

Dude, this is an internet forum. You can't expect people to read stuff. Jeez.

And we want players who can behave, I'm afraid we can't have what we want :(

-1, people really wont care if you have your indicators on or not, they will still crash into you if you are in the way of them going at a high speed. People will switch lanes regardless, they even do it without checking mirrors, and this blinker rule wouldnt help as i see lots and lots of people who floor it when someone tries to come into their lane (especially in a convoy)

Its common sense to use them when they are needed, sometimes people have to make sudden turns which means you have no chance to press the button for indicators.

Besides, why occupy the IGAs time with a mundane rule like remembering to use indicators at all times, when theres people doing things like driving at night without lights on, cars towing trailers, trolls ramming people, people driving the wrong way, people hacking, accidents occurring, etc etc etc.

Not to mention the fact that people can use it as a weapon at any point, I mean, people can easily say, "oh you crossed the line boundaries  without using an indicator, I have it on record, expect to be banned scrub".

Not to mention that sometimes indicator lights do not sync, ive had people say ive not used indicators in frot of them, ive provided my recorded footage showing my indicator light on the dash coming on, yet on their screen its not appeared, so there will be soooooo many false reports, more than triple what admins have to seal with now, all because of an indicator/blinker rule.

Its something too petty to enforce a rule for, yes its something that most countries around the world enforce strongly, but this is a game, where real world rules can only apply in certain aspects, you cant always put the game straight up against reality and expect what happens in the real world to happen ingame.
