ATS invalid path

When i try to install Truckersmp for ATS it says "You must have a valid American Truck Simulator path." why does this happen

Make sure you are linking it here, "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\American Truck Simulator" this is the default path, if you have more hard drives try and look for steam apps then common, since you might installed it on a different hard drive and click American Truck Simulator folder and press next.
