carsofawe Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 Suggestion Name: Blocking Overused Thread Names Suggestion Description: People sometimes over-request things in this section, like the massive number of posts asking to ban pilot cars in the ETS2 suggestions forums. If it were possible, I think that a system blocking certain phrases, such as "Ban Pilot Cars" would likely be a very good idea to keep people from posting 5 different threads asking for the same thing. Same thing with "Add new cars" Any example images: Note, this is from rejected, shows just how many of the same things there are Why should it be added?: How many times do we have to tell people that banning a single type of the car that allows for safer convoys isn't going to make people on the internet drive more safely... Also, can't an idea be rejected once and be left that way? It would really make the forums a lot cleaner, and allow mods not to have to reject this many threads.
TrademarkGamer Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 From my breif experience with IPB, I belive there is no way to block people posting the same threads so not much the team can do here if I'm correct
Takumi Fujiwara 86 Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 i know that with some web development sorcery you are able to make IPB censor words in posts, but blocking topics with words is another thing
Guest Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 All we need is for people to actually use the search function.
heyhococo Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 From my knowledge of IPB, I can tell you that this isn't possible. What you can do in the thread is copy and paste the link to an already rejected thread, for example like this: So then it's obvious that there's already an identical/similar thread that was rejected.
HumaneWolf Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 To correct everyone here, everything is possible. We won't do this, however, due to limitations in IPB and because we don't want to start changing anything in it's core. Rejected. 1 HumaneWolf - Website - Twitter - GitHub Ex-Developer
